I ultimately chose to withdraw my submission. Over the course of a little over a year, both major and minor revisions were completed, and it could be considered essentially accepted. However, the editor was too meticulous, with each step requiring an additional two months of waiting in front of the editor. Who knows how long the subsequent process would take after being accepted.

Indeed, the review process is quite slow. It took 9 months for my manuscript to be reviewed, with one being accepted directly and the other requiring major revisions. However, they were all minor issues and no additional experiments were needed. The manuscript was returned for major revisions within 3 days, and after resubmission, it was accepted within 5 days. I did not have to rush or urge for updates during the process (I was a first-year graduate student at that time, so there was no urgency). It is possible to gently remind the editors, as they are still very friendly.

The journal name for the received email submission is "Plastics, Rubber and Composites: Macromolecular Engineering," but the only SCI journal name found is "Plastics, Rubber and Composites." Does anyone know what is going on with this situation?

My submission has been pending for 9 months. When it was 3 months into the submission, it remained "with editor" for a long time. After sending an email to inquire about the status, it changed to "under review" after waiting for three days. This "under review" status has been ongoing for more than 6 months now. I have sent two reminder emails, but they haven't replied to me. I really want to swear at them!

I am even worse off than you! I submitted in June 2020 and have been in the "With Editor" status for three months. Then I sent an email to inquire about the situation and it immediately changed to "Under Review" status, where it remains till now. I sent a reminder email as well, but it has been two weeks and they still haven't replied. It's really frustrating. If they want to reject it, they should just do it quickly. It's been six months of no response from the reviewers. I wonder what's going on!
