Hello everyone, I submitted my paper on 2021.05.12, but the middle date has changed to 06.12. However, the status has always been "with editor." I contacted the journal manager a few days ago, and they replied that the status is indeed "with editor." They have also contacted the editor and assured me that they will handle it. But I haven't received any updates yet. Does anyone know what's going on in this situation? Should I continue to wait? I'm in a hurry to graduate.

Not necessarily, it is also possible to be directly hired. Optik has such a precedent.

One month later, the status changed from "with editor" to "decision in process". Is this a bad sign? I'd like to ask.

Listening to classmates who have contributed to this journal, many articles in Optik do not undergo peer review. Those who have submitted should know. Additionally, a low acceptance rate of 25% does not necessarily indicate the journal's quality; it could be due to an excessive number of low-quality submissions. Corrections are welcome!

There is "send email" in the system, or contact the journal at: ijleo@elsevier.com.

Hello, may I ask what changes have occurred in your status? My submission has been with the editor for almost a month now, and there has been one change in the intermediate status. I seek guidance.

Hello, may I ask what changes have occurred in your status? It has been almost a month since I submitted my contribution, and it has consistently remained "with editor" (with one change in the intermediate time).

Posted on July 2nd, received on August 10th, took about 40 days in total. The review process was very fast, the manuscript was reviewed and completed in half a month. After minor revisions, it took a week to process, and a few days later it was accepted. Editor Dayan Li was very responsible. Thank you, editor.

Review from the editor on XiaoMucang:

The latest Impact Factor (IF) is 2.443, and as a well-established optical journal, it is steadily rising.

The editorial department is undergoing various reforms to improve the publication quality, resulting in a decrease in acceptance rate to around 30%.

From July 1st until now, OPTIK has accepted 176 articles and rejected 436, not including articles that require revisions. The acceptance rate is 28.7% and is expected to stabilize at 25%.

Some teachers or students may have doubts about why their initial submission was not accepted. They may feel frustrated and send emails to the editors. However, most editors will not pay much attention to these emails. It is normal for initial submissions to be rejected. Should all submissions be sent for review? This is the case for every journal, so some students should not dwell on this. The key is to improve the quality!

Furthermore, authors are reminded to choose the correct section and not select "all other topics." The acceptance rate for initial submissions in this category is extremely low, and the rejection rate is very high!

Let's all work together to improve the publication quality of Optik. Hopefully, the reforms in the past two years can elevate the Impact Factor to 3.

If there are any other questions, you can message me privately.

The submission has been with the editor for over 3 months, and there is still no news. Should I send an email to inquire? Or should I wait for the editor's reply? Or should I resubmit it directly?

I would like to ask how you deliver Optik. I have been trying to upload the manuscript using Word, but it fails to build and keeps showing "build PDF error." The Word manuscript is only 3.6MB, so it shouldn't exceed the limit. Using a PDF manuscript allows it to be successfully built, but the editor asks for a editable document. I would like to ask how you deliver it. Can anyone give me some advice?

One domestic editor of Xiaomu Chong said that the rejection rate for this section is the highest, which has been ruined by some Chinese authors. Foreigners are not stupid either. Some people have eaten their food but still smashed their bowls, spreading bad words about the magazine everywhere. What were they thinking? Well, now they can't get published anymore. How satisfying!

lucky 2021-08-07

Long periods of time are all tragedies, it's too difficult now, the rejection rate is very high.

lucky 2021-08-05

I heard that the current acceptance rate is only 20%, and most of the initial reviews have been rejected. It's very difficult to get in, unlike previous years.

lucky 2021-08-05

with editor until decision in process, all have been rejected.

Heavv 2021-07-26

How long have you been changing your status? It's been half a month for me with the editor, and there has been no response. Helpless, waiting anxiously. By the way, who is your editor?

Heavv 2021-07-26

How long have you been changing your status? It's been almost half a month since I submitted to the editor, and there has been no response. Also, who is the editor you are working with?

小兔bunny 2021-07-19

The modified version has been returned, but the results are still unknown.

Heavv 2021-07-18

May I ask if there are any follow-up results? Who is the editor?

神雕 2021-07-01

How long does it take to become a decision with an editor?

uw21 2021-06-23

Excuse me, how long have you been with the editor before the decision in process appeared? Do you have any results now?

ningmengtree 2021-06-21

I suspect it's getting cold. The status I checked for everyone seems to be different, and it's not good.

ningmengtree 2021-06-21

Do you have any results? I do too. When you get the results, give me a kick.

Liam 2021-06-17

Does any friend have an article that went directly into "decision in process" after being "with editor"? What was the result? Please reply.

不乖,不闹 2021-06-08

The department I submitted to is "All other topics". There is no change in status between the two submissions, and the general review period is usually around 1.5 to 2 months.

神雕 2021-06-08

Excuse me, has there been any update on the status? We both submitted on the same day, and it is still "with editor" until now.

不乖,不闹 2021-06-06

Small surprise before graduating with a non-elite master's degree, the second article has been accepted directly~
April 29th: Submission
May 1st: With Editor
June 4th: Accept
Small tips (for beginners only): 1. Before submitting, ask yourself if you have "made up" the paper. If so, it is recommended to correct your attitude first; 2. Formatting does not have strict requirements, a Word document is sufficient; 3. Don't worry too much about polishing, the initial translation just needs to be understandable to yourself, content is more important; 4. The threshold is not high, a little bit of creativity is enough.

hm111 2021-06-01

Classmate, which editor did you choose?

代虎 2021-05-30

Submit one month and receive feedback. Make major revisions, complete them in one week, and then return to revise the grammar. After the second round of revisions, accept it directly the next day. The efficiency is quite high. The editor is Professor Zhou Qin, and the status updates are very timely.
