I have submitted two articles. The submission process involved waiting for ADM processing, under review, waiting for AE recommendation, and waiting for final decision.

For the first article, it was rejected after about 40 days. Both reviewers provided fair and professional comments, pointing out almost all the flaws in the article and giving some suggestions for improvement. Following their advice, we carefully analyzed the data and made revisions. Eventually, the article was accepted by eLife.

As for the second article, after about 40 days, we received major revision comments from two reviewers again. The first reviewer praised our work but also provided some crucial suggestions, including the request for additional imaging data. Although it required a significant amount of work, we were given only a month to make the revisions. We sent the revised version back after about 25 days, and after another 40 days, we received the second round of reviews. The reviewers were satisfied with the revisions but had a couple of minor comments. We made the modifications within a week and resubmitted the article for further review (which was somewhat frustrating). It took 30 more days for the article to be accepted, with a promise to receive the final proofreading email within 4 weeks. Overall, we are quite satisfied, except for the overly long process and the fact that even minor issues were sent back to the reviewers, which seemed like a waste of time for everyone involved.
