20230222 submit - Submitted on February 22, 2023
20230310 major revision - Major revision on March 10, 2023
20230317 resubmit - Resubmitted on March 17, 2023
20230326 accept - Accepted on March 26, 2023

This time it was really quick, from submission to acceptance, including two rounds of review, it took only one month. I have submitted many times before, and personally, I think the editor usually selects two out of the five reviewers you recommend, so it is important to choose appropriate reviewers. This time, I can also deduce who the two scholars were who reviewed the manuscript.

Did you remind the editor during your period? Someone couldn't find a reviewer for 7 months, but after reminding once, they got rejected.

小法吴 2022-12-12

May I ask how did you follow up on the manuscript? I can't see who is the editor handling it.

Hello, may I ask if the templates you use for submission are in LaTeX or Word?

于小七 2022-03-23

Posted for 5 months, unable to find enough reviewers, no review comments. So sad.

wangbc 2022-02-25

Hello, senior, I dare not accept. I suggest using the Word format, it's simple and direct.

bengdeng 2022-02-13

Hello senior, may I ask if it is necessary to submit the manuscript in LaTeX format? Or is Word format acceptable too? Are there any specific requirements?

AA is a classic aerospace SCI journal with a certain level of representativeness. It has a moderate difficulty level and is classified as Q1 in JCR. The reviewers can provide some key opinions, and overall, it is good and well-regarded in the industry. However, compared to some flagship journals of AIAA (such as AIAA J JGCD), it is slightly inferior.

This submission process took a long time, mainly because one of the reviewers was dragging their feet. There were four rounds of review in total.

2021.02.26: Submission
2021.04.25: Reviewer #1 suggests major revisions with 30 comments; Reviewer #2 suggests major revisions with 36 comments. Most of the comments are about requesting further explanations and clarifications.
2021.05.01: Revised manuscript (R1) submitted
2021.06.19: Reviewer #1 suggests acceptance; Reviewer #2 suggests major revisions and provides 12 references for analysis. Although most of the references are in Russian, they are still relevant to the article and worth reading.
2021.06.21: Revised manuscript (R2) submitted
2021.07.01: Reviewer #2 suggests minor revisions and includes a recently published article from June 26, recommending its citation and analysis.
2021.07.02: Revised manuscript (R3) submitted
2021.07.21: Reviewer #2 suggests minor revisions and requests the inclusion of data from their latest article.
2021.07.22: Revised manuscript (R4) submitted
2021.07.23: Accepted.

Hello, hello! Sorry to bother you again. When I was submitting my paper for revision, there was an option to submit a LaTeX Source File. I don't know how to use this software, and the deadline is approaching. Do I really need to use LaTeX software to edit it? Can I directly submit a Word document instead?

XHXXS 2021-07-10

Hello, I would like to ask, does AA accept Word submissions? I couldn't compile the LaTeX template on the official website for some reason. Thank you.

March 24, 2021: Submission
May 3, 2021: First review received, both reviewers requested major revisions. They pointed out the same main issue: the background gas pressure in the simulation settings was much higher than the pressure in the orbital environment. In reality, I based the settings on ground test results, but due to equipment limitations and high roughness of the vacuum, the pressure was set too high.
May 23, 2021: However, I re-adjusted the background pressure, and the data results showed significant improvement. Revised the manuscript.
June 23, 2021: Second review received, one reviewer accepted the revisions, and the other suggested minor revisions. They were impressed with the improvements made, but had some questions about the revised data results.
June 23, 2021: Revised the manuscript on the same day, directly attaching the calculation code and explaining the underlying reasons for the data changes. I mentioned that they could replicate my calculation process to verify.
June 28, 2021: Accepted, the reviewers expressed gratitude for providing the code and also provided suggestions for optimizing the code.
Overall, it was a standard submission process that took three months from start to finish. The reviewers demonstrated strong expertise and genuinely addressed some fundamental issues in the article.

Last time it took four months to receive the first review, but this time after submitting the manuscript... the result came out in just five days. The speed was so fast that it felt like a rejection. It may be because it was a simulation article and the reviewer was not from the same field, so there were hardly any comments. After making the revisions, it was accepted the next day.

山芋派 2021-03-21

Posted in early August 2020, it became "under review" on the third day, but it lasted for nearly four to five months. After urging for submission, major revisions were given on the same day. After two rounds of revisions, it was officially accepted today. It is an experimental article.
