The decrease in impact factor has reasons behind it. Simply pursuing popular disciplines, however, only brings submissions that have been rejected by other journals.

sapphire 2023-06-29

The impact factor has decreased, it's hard to describe it in just one word!

sunxiaofeng 2023-06-20

May I ask if JPCL has strict word limits? If so, what is the maximum limit? Thank you very much.

sapphire 2023-06-01

I submitted my application on May 21st, and I remember being assigned an editor within 3 days. However, the status has not changed since then, and it has always been "Under Review" since the moment of submission.

appletree 2023-06-01

The article submitted on the 19th is still in the hands of the chief editor. It feels like it hasn't been processed yet, and the editor hasn't been assigned. It doesn't meet the response speed of Letters.

JPCL used to be in the first district. In 2021, both the basic version and the upgraded version were in the first district. In December, it dropped to the second district.

Huxiang 2023-03-06

The review process is fast, with two reviewers who are both very professional. It is evident that the chosen peer reviewer shares the same research field as me. Through their answers to the questions, the article has indeed been improved significantly, which is worth recommending. However, the impact factor has dropped considerably in recent years, whereas some energy materials journals have experienced a crazy surge in impact factor. I hope the journal pays attention to the impact factor.

This journal has never been in the top tier, so how can we talk about returning to the top tier...

mjkIII 2023-02-18

If you can't do it yourself, don't look for a sense of existence here. It's just an ordinary journal in the second district.

地势坤 2023-01-30

Posted on January 20th, the status has not changed. How can I check if it has been submitted for review?

xiaohan W 2022-11-25

Excuse me, does this journal accept catalytic chemistry? Specifically, in the area of catalyst material synthesis.

yuyurs 2022-09-13

Very fast, very friendly. It can be published in just one month.

zx-TXT 2022-09-10

The review process is very fast, and the editor is very nice. Minor revisions are accepted.

luke001 2022-08-23

Posted on July 12th, received feedback on August 4th, made two minor revisions and one major revision. After making the revisions based on the minor feedback, resubmission for review was not required and it was accepted. The feedback for the major revision was also positive and it was sent back on the 11th and accepted on the 19th. Overall, the speed was fast and the reputation of JPCL is still good. However, recently the impact factor has not kept up. I hope it can return to the ranks of the first zone of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Are there many requirements for a cover letter, including writing the names of 5 reviewers, providing the author's information, and each person having an ACS account? Do all of these need to be included in the cover letter?

天高云淡123 2022-07-25

The speed is very fast, with three reviewers: one accepts, one rejects, and one accepts after minor revisions. The editor gave a major revision, and after the major revision, it was accepted. The process from submission to acceptance took one month, and the efficiency is very high.

leyml 2022-06-21

May 5th, submission.
Received review comments on May 25th, with one minor revision and one major revision.
Returned revised manuscript on June 8th.
Accepted on June 14th.
Received the DIO number on June 15th.
The efficiency of the journal is very high, and its influence is also good. Although it is a second-tier journal in China, it is still highly recognized in Europe.

Will there be an email notification after submission for review?

Wenyi lu 2022-06-14

May I ask if there will be email notification for the submission review?

Wenyi lu 2022-06-14

May I ask if I will receive a notification for the review meeting?

大静 2022-05-26

2022.5.23 Submission
2.22.5.26 Informing the transfer. Even if it is rejected, I am still happy with this speed.

burstlink 2022-04-27

Clearly, it is a good journal in the field of materialization, but now it is only in the 2nd tier and not considered top. What should we actually submit to after materialization? Can't we just submit to 1st tier journals like NS, JACS, Angew?

胡汉三 2022-02-25

January 22 submission
February 10 received reviewer comments, three reviewers, major revision required, but not many comments.
February 15 revised.
February 24, accepted.
JPCL has always had a fast review process.

Adieu 2022-02-05

Direction of PhOLED, more emphasis on innovation, editors and reviewers are very responsible and friendly, the questions are targeted, some literature was added to answer the reviewers' questions, most importantly, the journal has a high-speed review efficiency, thumbs up.

For example, journals like JPCC, PCCP, and Langmuir have very high requirements, and the peer review process is also very rigorous. Many domestic journals rely on controlling the number of publications to artificially inflate their impact factor, which is disgraceful.

博览乾坤 2021-12-21

The mysterious classification system of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has pushed domestic publications to the forefront, leaving many excellent journals in elementary subjects on the sidelines. In the future, without strong capabilities, only relying on personal connections will result in being unable to achieve first-tier classification. Otherwise, there will be no chance of success.

Arther 2021-12-20

JPCL is also struggling, the impact factor should not keep dropping, don't play yourself to death, it's not top-tier in Zone 2, sigh.

博览乾坤 2021-12-05

If you do computational chemistry, it's good to publish on any of these journals. However, the probability of getting published in JPCL is higher. You can also look for articles in AMI, but most of the articles there are from top experts.

Steven96230 2021-12-05

I would like to ask, which one is higher in terms of computational chemistry, JPCL or ACS AMI?
