The first manuscript self-submitted by the graduate student is a review on neuroinflammation. It took three months from submission to acceptance after minor revisions. Now, the second self-submitted manuscript, which is a research paper, is also submitted to the same journal. This time, it has been a more difficult journey. It encountered a reviewer who abandoned the review, and it took almost a month to find a third reviewer. Therefore, the first round of review took about two months. Then came major revisions, minor revisions, and finally acceptance after minor revisions, with a total duration of over 4 months. Finally, a big weight has been lifted.

5.31 submission. On 9.1, received reviewer comments, which required major revisions. Fortunately, the additional experimental data requested had already been completed before the submission, so they were directly added as supplementary materials. Some parts of the experiments were rewritten and the discussion was revised within 3 weeks. In early October, minor revisions were requested by the reviewer, focusing on detail modifications. After making the revisions, the paper was accepted in mid-October. It feels like the journal values logic and research innovation, and the reviewer was quite strict. However, getting a publication during my student days is considered quite fortunate.
