You are only qualified to criticize PAMI if you have simultaneously won TIT and TPAMI; otherwise, you are just praising yourself for whatever you have achieved.

The majority of TPAMI papers are engineering applications in the field of computer vision. There are a lot of people working on it and submitting papers, which has raised its impact factor. In terms of academic level, it is at a similar level as TIP, but not as good as TSP. Computer vision is essentially a field where people just flood it with papers, and TPAMI is a representative of that. It does not have outstanding academic contributions.

【02520】It seems to be a misunderstanding. The original comment should be understood as follows: "Journals like tit and or are both highly theoretical journals, so they have low citation rates and therefore low impact factors." It should not be interpreted as tit and or being equally difficult journals (the original comment did not express a stance on whether these two journals have the same level of difficulty). Haha~

The text translates to: "The person above said that TIT is equivalent to Operations Research (OR) in the field of Operations Management, which clearly shows a complete lack of understanding of the importance of OR in Operations Management. Each year, the number of OR publications in mainland China does not exceed single digits. If you publish one OR paper, you are basically considered an outstanding young researcher or even a distinguished professor. However, can you obtain a project with just one TIT paper? Comparing TIT to OR is simply a joke!!"

There is no need to criticize applications using theories. Theories without applications are also useless. National development cannot be separated from engineering applications.

Tit is very good, but you don't have to put TPAMI down to the level of TSP. TSP and TIP are at a similar level, much lower than TPAMI. As for TII, TIE, and TIM, which are just spam, there's no need to mention them.

The ranking of trans is as follows:
TPAMI, TIT >= TRO >= TAC, TMI, TIP, TSP > TWC, TMM, TCVST, TBME > TII, TIE, TIM

This is actually the consequence of only looking at impact factor. It focuses solely on applications and disregards theory. Because high impact factor journals are usually application-oriented, but applications quickly get drowned in the tide of the times. It is normal for traditional basic journals to lower their impact factor rankings in the future, maybe even reaching the fourth quartile someday. However, their importance is unquestionable and their influence is far-reaching. The Chinese Academy of Sciences should learn from the ranking methods in the West and consider incorporating some comprehensive indicators into consideration.

Oh my god, if TIT is in the third zone, which other journal under IEEE dares to claim to be awesome.

In terms of engineering theory alone, TIT is definitely the top, followed by TSP, TAC, and TPAMI (I personally feel that TPAMI is popular because the field is hot, so there are many submissions and thus high acceptance difficulty), followed by TII, TIE, and TIM.

TIT feels like the giant top journal of OR (Operations Research), with a low zone but absolutely prestigious status.

The reason for the low impact factor is probably simple, TIT and OR papers are too difficult, most people can't understand them, let alone cite them.

Of course, some people say TIT is a "water journal" and that's not a problem. I have also seen many experts like this: they are not just pretending, they can actually contribute to TIT easily. After all, for someone with a math background, what is difficult about engineering journals?

Awesome, Tit is only in the third district.

Coding theory is the best magazine.
Acceptable mathematical problems.
If not, I will go to submit to the Journal of Combinatorial Theory Series A...
