Hello, may I ask how long the first trial took?

zb_kevin 2022-09-22

The same draft letter, exactly the same! I'm ready to change my investment.

I regret to inform you that based on the reviewer feedback, the Associate Editor could not recommend publishing your paper. Final decisions on acceptance are based on the referees' reviews and such factors as restriction of space, topic, and the overall balance of articles.

We hope that this decision does not deter you from submitting to us again. Thank you for your interest in the IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing.

Is it necessary to resubmit as "New" status? If so, please respond to the reviewer's comments and resubmit.

ACC1 2022-08-30

Are there any brothers who understand or have encountered this situation?

ACC1 2022-08-30

Can I resubmit my manuscript without a recommendation from the associate editor? Do I need to address the previous review comments when resubmitting?

zyzyzy 2022-08-13

Is it so terrifying... Boss, I want to ask, does this journal have detailed changes in the review status? Or will it always show "under review"?

superLiu 2022-07-21

Continuing to complain. The submission was made in June 2021, and by the end of February 2022, the first round of revisions was given, which allowed for a three-month period for modifications. Due to other matters during the major revision, it was set aside for a period of time before being returned for further revisions in May 2022. As of July 21, 2022, there is still no outcome.

阳光123 2022-04-30

In the end, it was still rejected after going through 4 rounds of review, which took 10 months.
First review: 2 minor revisions, 2 rejections, resubmission;
Second review: 2 acceptances, 1 minor revision, 1 rejection, major revision;
Third review: 3 acceptances, 1 rejection (only 1 comment: lack of innovation, outdated comparison methods), major revision; as the innovation cannot be improved, we can only explain with literature and supplement with comparison to 2 other methods. In the response, we mentioned that if the reviewers are not satisfied, please suggest which literature to compare with, and we are willing to include it.
Fourth review, there were only 3 reviewers, 2 acceptances, 1 rejection, and ultimately rejected. The reviewers who rejected in the first 3 rounds rejected again this time. The reviewer who rejected this time was an "invited" reviewer, who raised 3 questions without mentioning our response to the previous rejection. However, these 3 questions were raised by previous reviewers, and we have already responded to and made modifications (he reviewed in the 4th round, probably couldn't see the previous responses). However, all of the authors suspect that it is the Associate Editor's review comments, as they are basically the same as the previous rejection by that expert.

Luck is still needed, it seems difficult without a renowned expert's endorsement.

May I ask if your results have come out?

小行家 2022-04-28

May I ask what happened in the end?

小行家 2022-04-28

May I ask what is the current result? That reviewer you mentioned sounds really disgusting.

zb_kevin 2022-03-07

Currently in the resubmit as New stage, haha, basically the same, 1 reject, 2 major revisions.

Information in the email dated November 30th:
We have finished evaluating the mentioned paper for the IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing and suggest that your paper should undergo a Major Revision. Please note that TDSC policy allows only one major revision, but I am making an exception based on the reviews and the recommendation of the Associate Editor. Hence, this will be your last chance for a major revision.

阳光123 2022-03-05

Submit revised manuscript on January 1, 2022. On February 5, it became "With Associate Editor." On February 14, the editor-in-chief sent an email with one rejection and three acceptances, concluding that major revisions are required. In the last email, it was made clear that it was the final opportunity. The editor and editor-in-chief have given "major revisions" again, and the rejecting reviewer provided a strongly subjective opinion.

Submitted revised manuscript again on February 27, 2022. Responded with a five-page explanation to one comment and added comparisons with two latest methods in the paper. Still waiting...

In general, the review results will be given around 8 weeks (1 week for editorial processing, 6 weeks for peer review, 1 week for editorial processing).

Submitted on June 15, 2021, the submission was directly placed "Under Review" (according to the journal's website, the submission system only has two statuses: "Under Review" and "With Associate Editor"). On August 4, it changed to "With Associate Editor," and on August 12, the editor-in-chief sent an email stating that two were rejected, two required minor revisions, and the conclusion was to "Revise and Resubmit as New."

Re-submitted on September 25, 2021, on November 18, it changed to "With Associate Editor," and on November 30, the editor-in-chief sent an email stating that one was rejected, one required minor revisions, and two were accepted, concluding that "Major Revisions Required." The email explicitly mentioned that the opportunity for major revisions is the final chance. Generally, the journal only allows one major revision, so "modify and resubmit" seems to refer to the first major revision.

bruce 2022-02-18

Submitted in April 21, initial review results in February 22, revise and resubmit as new.

superLiu 2022-01-15

Posted in June 2021, and now in January 2022, there is still no result from the first review. This slow speed is really unacceptable. Some journals have even gone through two rounds of revisions. TDSC is a second-tier journal!

阳光123 2021-11-26

Currently, it seems to be quite punctual. Generally, it takes about 9 weeks (2 weeks for editor invitation and review, 6 weeks for external review, 1 week for editor's decision) to receive the results. If the submission is successful, it will be labeled as "Under review". Waiting for the decision after the external review is completed is labeled as "With Associate Editor".

zb_kevin 2021-11-23

Hello, for this journal, what is the status during the initial review? ADM: XXX + Under review? It has been a month since submission, and it has remained in this status. I am not sure if it has been sent for review.

This journal is ridiculously slow, it can't get any slower. Although it is classified as Class A, I think the review process is blacklist-worthy.
