I feel like they want me to review a manuscript. On July 11th, I received an email asking me to review it. I glanced at it and realized it wasn't from my Associate Editor (AE), so I didn't reply in time. On July 13th (almost two and a half months after submission), I logged into the system and saw "awaiting recommendation," thinking it was the first review result. On July 14th, the system changed to "in peer review." Then, on July 16th, I received another email asking me to review the same manuscript, but this time it was assigned by my AE. I got scared and quickly agreed. I am thinking they want me to review it!

You should be almost stable now. I asked about internal news and found out that TCSVT currently has a huge amount of submissions. Previously, in the review letters, there would always be the reject or major/minor decisions from each reviewer. But now, they have relaxed the process and removed the reviewer's opinions, allowing the Associate Editors (AEs) to freely choose and perform well. This makes it easier to filter out some articles, and each AE has a target for the number of rejections. Currently, it is unlikely to receive two positive opinions, even if there are many minor comments that don't seem important. The review process is too fast, resulting in a loss of the previous review quality. The opinions are mostly superficial. However, you can still give it a try since the review process is fast.
