The latest IF4.7, the quality of the articles on it is still very good, and the requirements are increasingly high.

18 years, three sub-journals BIO, ENERGY, NANO, let's see what level ENERGY and NANO have reached now. BIO is barely alive with its inclusion in ESCI. Since BIO is not developing well, why start this sub-journal? They intentionally appointed a Chinese person as the responsible editor to suppress the development of BIO. Indeed, all the work in the BIO field can be incorporated into NANO. The BIO field can be further refined and is actually unnecessary. It is suggested that everyone directly write a letter to the editor-in-chief of AMI to cancel the BIO journal and not embarrass ourselves by keeping it. All the articles published in it should be directly placed in NANO or deleted and thrown into the academic trash can, press the clear button. Thinking of this magazine makes me sick. Journals that cannot enter SCIE should be kicked out of the ACS team.

This is the journal's status after six years! The indexes of other sub-journals cover important disciplines, while this one can only index abstracts and previews. It is at the bottom of the bottom. Strongly urge ACS to remove ACS ABM, this lousy journal!

yanyujiangpan 2023-04-26

A reliable ACS journal with marginalization and poor quality, it's embarrassing. Don't talk about how ACS requires an impact factor of at least five to be included, if it could have reached that level, it would have long ago. Even SCIE despises such a low-quality sub-journal, so it won't be included. If it's not even SCI-listed, why would anyone cite it? And forget about hoping for a high impact factor, that's just a dream. Moreover, this journal is already on the decline, with a pitifully low number of submissions this year. India is the absolute main contributor, and they basically accept everything, no matter how poor the quality is. It's a definite trash bin, and they still pretend to be important. They can only rapidly accept articles to publish one issue per month, otherwise the ASAP section will have no inventory to publish. Never submit your carefully written manuscript to this exclusive Indian journal, it's like throwing it away.

yanyujiangpan 2023-04-26

For those who have not yet submitted, you must think twice before taking action, and you must avoid pitfalls! This journal was first established in 2018 and cannot be considered a new publication anymore. Until now, it is only indexed in ESCI, not SCI, not SCI, not SCI... The sub-journal of AMI only has BIO, which is not SCI. It is unlikely for BIO to enter SCI this year, and it is also unlikely for the next five years. You must avoid pitfalls. Submitting to this journal is equivalent to nullifying an article. ESCI is not recognized domestically. Do not recognize ESCI. If you see this comment, you must avoid this journal. It is better to submit to your own school's journal, which may be considered as a Chinese core journal. ESCI does not count for anything. It is equivalent to publishing an experimental report online, which cannot be used for graduation or awards. The future prospects of this journal are not promising. Most of the articles are from hydrology in India, with messy pictures and rough style. There are basically no domestic submissions to this journal, except for some special issues. For those in related fields, you can submit to ACS Biomaterials Science & Engineering. The difficulty is not much higher than this BIO journal, but it is a solid SCI journal. It works for anything! Be sure to avoid the pitfall! This APPLIED BIO cannot be included in SCI in the next few years, and it may never be included. It is the abandoned child of ACS, not as good as MDPI.

Next year, ESCI will also have an impact factor. Don't be so pessimistic.

yanyujiangpan 2022-07-27

Does ESCI have an impact factor? How much does it matter? What matters is that ESCI is not recognized domestically, journals are not included in SCIE, and everything else is irrelevant. Chinese Core EI is a hundred times stronger than ESCI. This journal is a disgrace to ACS, as only a few of ACS journals have yet to enter SCIE, and these few were only launched in 2020-2021, so being in ESCI is normal. This old 2018 journal really embarrassed ACS. From the current situation, the number of submissions from domestic authors has drastically decreased. If it is still not included within six months, then it will be completely over.

Don't be discouraged, the Impact Factor of Clarivate Analytics has changed today. ESCI journals will also have an Impact Factor next year.

yanyujiangpan 2022-06-30

Dear Dr. @@@,

We have contacted the editors of ACS regarding this issue, and the chief editor of AMI has responded. They are also aware of the indexing problem with BIO and are in discussions with Clarivate to resolve it. We hope that the first step of indexing can be completed as soon as possible.

Sincerely,
Kirk S. Schanze

I can understand everyone's feelings. According to this year's citation count, as long as BIO enters SCI, its first impact factor will be above 5, so the prospect is still good, definitely not worse than another journal called BIOMATERIALS by ACS. However, ACS just refuses to include BIO. As one of the top three sub-journals, it is not comparable to the fourth or fifth one. Now, the sixth and seventh ones are about to be released this year. If BIO does not have an impact factor in the fifth year, what reason is there to believe that it will have one in the sixth year? There isn't any. This journal has started to decline this year, at least the domestic authors will no longer believe in its future. Its future is uncertain.

实验室小崔 2022-06-30

It's really frustrating. I invested in it in 19 years and still waiting. The flowers have withered already. I will definitely not invest in new magazines anymore. I have learned my lesson.

实验室小崔 2022-06-30

Not SCI, and it hasn't been included in JCR yet. Don't submit to this journal, it's equivalent to wasting an article.

Qiu jieshou 2022-06-28

Not being included in SCIE for 4 years is so disappointing! It wasted one of my articles.

yanyujiangpan 2022-06-28

No need to pay attention anymore, this journal will not have an impact factor. Its positioning is only in ESCI and will never be included in SCI.

I suggest that the ACS APPLIED series directly remove this BIO journal as it is not valued and it lowers the overall quality of the series.

The impact factors for 2022 have been released today, and it is both expected and unexpected that BIO has no impact factor.

The POLYMER series has a total citation of 5602 with an impact factor of 4.855, while ELECTRONIC has a total citation of 4185 with an impact factor of 4.494. BIO has a citation of 8347, but no impact factor.

Despite having twice the citation of ELECTRONIC, BIO does not deserve to have an impact factor. Could it be because Chinese people serve as the duty editor?

The authors of BIO have been waiting for these past few years, and this is the result: no impact factor. They hope for next year, and next year they hope for the year after, but it will never happen.

Only the operational department of ACS probably knows the specific reasons for this. This journal has entered a vicious cycle.

I suggest submitting to other established journals. The impact factor is secondary; if it is not included in SCI, it is equivalent to discarding an article.

yanyujiangpan 2022-05-29

ACS AMI transferred to BIO sub-journals. The efficiency is very high, as review comments are provided two weeks after submission, with three reviewers. The total time from submission to acceptance is one month. The BIO journal started publishing in July 2018 and has been running for five years. It is still listed in ESCI and has not been included in SCIE. For whatever reason, this is probably the longest and most difficult journal for ACS to enter SCI, which is puzzling. In terms of article level and depth, similar second-tier journals like ACS APPLIED NANO MATERIALS and ACS BIOMATERIALS SCIENCE & ENGINEERING are recommended. The articles in these three journals can be considered together. However, APPLIED BIO is not in SCI, and considering the current situation, the possibility of receiving an impact factor this year is very low, which is very detrimental to the quality and development of future submissions. Even after five years, it cannot be considered a new journal. Because even in China, ESCI is not on par with the Chinese core, it is nothing. Although disappointed, I still hope that BIO will have a good future direction. Entering SCIE is the first step; otherwise, there is no point discussing further.

Hello, may I ask if this journal is SCI? Can I find retrieval reports?

JUNE123456 2022-05-17

Excuse me, is this journal SCI? Can it provide retrieval reports?

One month and four days to receive the first review comments.
Eight days to revise.
Three days to accept after revision.
From submission to acceptance, it took a month and a half. Thank you to Professor Wang Shu, the editor-in-chief, for the recognition. I wish the journal continued success and increasing influence!

May I ask how to check the real-time impact factor of a specific journal?

superceng 2022-01-12

AMI launched the BIO sub-journal, which clearly targeted its own biomaterials journals. The reason why it did not have an impact factor last year is likely because the immediate factor was too low at that time (it was calculated as 2.5). I apologize to this series and therefore applied for delayed inclusion. After operation, the current immediate factor is 3.5, and it is estimated to reach 4 by the first factor in June this year, which is not too bad for a biomaterials journal.

The processing speed and reviewing speed of the manuscript are both very fast, and the editors and reviewers are also very careful and responsible. After the first round of minor revisions, it was reviewed again twice upon returning, which feels quite demanding. However, the influence of the magazine doesn't feel quite there yet...

和气之财 2021-12-09

Submitted in mid-October this year, it is still under review.

小猪叶子 2021-12-08

This journal finally appeared on LetPub. Does this mean that the impact factor will be released next year? The other three sister journals from the same period have already received their impact factors this year, except for this one. At that time, I thought it was unlikely. Let me explain the submission situation. It has been a long time, and my impression is as follows: I submitted the manuscript in 2019, in early June. In August, it was returned for major revisions, and I also conducted additional experiments. Ten days later, I submitted the revised manuscript and received a notification of acceptance after about two weeks.
