We conducted a study on timed semen collection techniques in donkeys. The content was good, but the initial writing was not strong enough, leading to rejection after submission (major revisions required). After resubmission, we made two major revisions and one minor revision. In the end, we also included two supplemental figures and the paper was accepted. The EVJ (Equine Veterinary Journal) is a top journal in the field of equine veterinary medicine, and being accepted was not easy. It is likely to be upgraded to the first tier in the Chinese Academy of Sciences journal classification. One notable point worth sharing is that I provided a detailed introduction of our team in the cover letter, allowing the editor-in-chief to see our capabilities, which may have played a role in the acceptance.
