On Jul 27, 2023, I switched from surface science to this field. After switching, my manuscript was assigned a number in about two hours. The submission status then changed to "With Editor," and it has remained in this status until now (23:00, August 2, 2023). Of course, as others have shared, it seems that this journal's speed is quite slow. It's okay to be slow, but I hope for a good outcome. The article was submitted to EA in January 2023 and was successfully reviewed. Three reviewers' opinions were received: #1. Rejected, on the grounds of similarity to previously published articles and lack of detailed explanation on heterojunctions. #2. Major revisions, with 12 suggested modifications, relatively straightforward. #3. Rejected, with 10 suggested modifications. Finally, the editor provided an opportunity for resubmission after making the necessary revisions. Due to the holiday period at home, the revisions were delayed and experimental work was resumed at the end of February.

@Li Mo, no need for article processing fees. As far as I know, it seems that only Chinese domestic journals require article processing fees, and this concept of fees does not exist in English-language journals (excluding a few rare cases).
