Last year I submitted it, and received a notice for revision after 8 months. One reviewer gave feedback that the depth of discussion was insufficient. After making the necessary modifications, I submitted the revised manuscript after a month. The revised version was then in the hands of the editor for two weeks before being sent for review again. It has been half a month since the resubmission, and I still do not know the outcome.

In the middle of 2020, I had an article published in a journal of good quality. The editors and reviewers were quite strict. However, the processing speed of the manuscript was very slow. Compared to most other journals in the field, this journal was really sluggish. Anyway, the slow speed of this journal is a common consensus among everyone, but everything else is great! The chief editor, Professor Jan Vymazal, is very impressive. He approached me to review a manuscript and he was a very kind elder.

This journal has accepted the second paper. The process of the first paper is shared in post #51. Since my research direction and the name of the course I teach are both ecological engineering, this journal is of particular interest to me. I have also reviewed for this journal twice. Overall, the journal is good, with a continuous decrease in publication volume and self-citation rate, while the impact factor steadily increases. It is classified as a second-tier journal in the new division of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. However, this time it is really slow! Please carefully consider if you are in a hurry or if your research results have originality. The process for this submission is as follows:

2020-12-14: Submitted
2021-06-22: Review comments returned, with a total of 47 comments from two reviewers. Some additional experimental data needs to be supplemented, luckily we have already obtained these data during the 7 months of review. So the overall revision is not difficult.
2021-07-26: Revised manuscript sent back to the original reviewers three days later.
2021-08-14: The revised paper has rectified the issues I pointed out, and only a few minor comments I have to make.
2021-08-26: Sent back.
2021-08-30: Accepted.

I hope the subsequent process will be faster. There was no reminder during the 7 months of review because I submitted other papers and conducted experiments. Moreover, the time was so long that I almost forgot about this paper.

The first trial took 4 months, and it took another 3 months for major repairs. After the major repairs were completed, it took another half a month to notify the acceptance.
