Three journals had their impact factors revoked due to excessive self-citation, accounting for 0.01% of the total number of selected journals. Clarivate Analytics clarified that this does not mean the journals are being removed from the Web of Science Core Collection.

Additionally, this year, Clarivate Analytics' Research Integrity team discovered a new type of abnormal citation behavior called "self stacking," which refers to the high concentration of citations to one or more articles within a journal's impact factor calculation. The title of this journal is "Organic Chemistry," so any articles related to organic chemistry can be accepted.
