Aims and Scope

Sedimentary Geology is a journal that rapidly publishes high quality, original research and review papers that cover all aspects of sediments and sedimentary rocks at all spatial and temporal scales. Submitted papers must make a significant contribution to the field of study and must place the research in a broad context, so that it is of interest to the diverse, international readership of the journal. Papers that are largely descriptive in nature, of limited scope or local geographical significance, or based on limited data will not be considered for publication.

Overall, the speed of the journal is quite fast. My article was reviewed by three reviewers, two of whom requested revisions and one rejected it. The editor then sought another reviewer, and in the end, the article was accepted after modifications. The whole process took me five months, which should have been shorter if the quality of the article was higher. Additionally, the choice of editor is crucial. If the editor likes your article and a reviewer rejects it, the editor will find another reviewer. However, if the editor does not like it, it is likely to be rejected directly.

One major revision, due to a delay of two months caused by graduation. I am grateful for the understanding of the journal editor, allowing me to submit the revised version two months later. The chief editor accepted it within three days! SG should be considered a good earth science journal, and I am honored to have one of my papers accepted as a domestic doctoral student.
