Before submission, the journal was ranked as a Tier 3 journal. However, when the article was accepted, the journal was downgraded to a Tier 4 journal by the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The quality of the article was satisfactory, with three reviewers suggesting revisions throughout the process. The first round of revisions addressed the questions raised by the reviewers, but one of the reviewers requested additional experiments and the provision of raw data, such as flow cytometry data. Although the literature search was conducted and supplemented, no additional experiments were performed. However, the response was comprehensive, and the reviewer considered it acceptable, but raised other concerns. Overall, it was not an easy process.

I feel the same. I have been submitting for 3 months already. I asked the editor a couple of days ago and was told that they haven't found a reviewer yet. What kind of speed is this? It's supposed to be an open-access journal!
