Aims and Scope
JOURNAL OF HYDROLOGY AND HYDROMECHANICS is an international open access journal for the basic disciplines of water sciences. The scope of hydrology is limited to biohydrology, catchment hydrology and vadose zone hydrology, primarily of temperate zone. The hydromechanics covers theoretical, experimental and computational hydraulics and fluid mechanics in various fields, two- and multiphase flows, including non-Newtonian flow, and new frontiers in hydraulics. The journal is published quarterly in English. The types of contribution include: research and review articles, short communications and technical notes. The articles have been thoroughly peer reviewed by international specialists and promoted to researchers working in the same field.

Due to the low partition, there is relatively little domestic investment. In addition, there are only four issues per year, with only a dozen articles in each issue, resulting in a small annual publication volume. Even so, when encountering rigorous column editors (renowned experts from abroad), they take it very seriously. My first submission was a tragedy. All reviewers suggested revisions before publication, but because there were no experimental photos to support my research findings, the column editor ultimately rejected it and provided detailed reasons for the rejection. The second submission was for a special issue organized by a renowned expert, who actively invited submissions. After revisions, it was accepted for publication, but the online publication process was too slow.

Hello! My first rejected paper took two months for the normal review process to return with the first-round comments. The second special issue paper was submitted relatively late, so the first-round review was pretty quick. As for the innovativeness of this journal, I can't say for sure, but it's similar to regular journals and definitely not as demanding in terms of innovativeness as top hydrology journals like WRR and AWR. Although the journal's ranking is not high, it is definitely not like some low-quality journals that accept any submissions. This is just my personal opinion, for your reference.
