Aims and Scope
In 2014, The Condor became The Condor: Ornithological Applications, an international, peer-reviewed journal that publishes original research, syntheses, and assessments that address ornithological applications in two ways: the application of scientific theory and methods to the conservation, management, and ecology of birds; and the application of ornithological knowledge to conservation and management policy and other issues of importance to society. The journal aims to reach both research ornithologists and practitioners.

The Condor: Ornithological Applications is an online journal, with current articles published weekly. Posted articles have a DOI and final page numbers for citation. Issues are printed on a quarterly basis.

The Condor began in 1899 as the journal of the Cooper Ornithological Club, a group of ornithologists in California. Since those early days, the Cooper Ornithological Society has grown to become an international organization, and The Condor has developed into one of the world’s foremost ornithological journals.
