Description
Today’s complex and challenging global developments necessitate deep understanding of international trends and the factors that drive them. The Euro-Atlantic and Asia regions, and particularly the role of Russia and China in those regions and beyond remains critical to U.S. economic, political, and security interests. Russia’s power has been manifested through military involvements in Ukraine and Syria, and interference in U.S. domestic politics. China’s growing influence is shaping global trade and financial policies, as well as security in Asia and, possibly, other parts of the world. To reduce the risk of global instability, the Global Dynamics subprogram supports efforts to promote deeper understanding of domestic and foreign policy developments in the Euro-Atlantic and Asia regions and their implications for U.S. and global security, with particular attention to Russia and China. Grants aim to advance policy-relevant research, disseminate and apply key insights, strengthen expertise, and promote international cooperation among scholars and institutions.
