Summary: This study determined the role of a superoxide dismutase mimetic MnTnBuOE-2-PyP5+ (MnP) in the degradation of rotenone-induced 4-HNE aggresomes in HL-1 cardiomyocytes. The results showed that pre-treatment with MnP attenuated ROS formation, 4-HNE aggresome accumulation, and autophagosome formation induced by rotenone. Furthermore, MnP also reduced tubulin hyperacetylation and cell death caused by disruption of autophagy in HL-1 cells.

This review examines the dysregulation of MHC-I expression in cancer, the nature of MHC-I-bound antigenic peptides, and discusses therapeutic strategies to address MHC-I deficiency in solid tumors with a focus on NK cells and CD4 T cells.

Summary: This study aimed to identify the anti-viral T cells raised by VSV-GP virotherapy in C57BL/6J mice using a multi-level adapted bioinformatics approach. The top-ranked viral epitopes triggering IFN-gamma secretion due to T cell activation were identified and validated. Overall, this identification of VSV-GP T cell epitopes enables comprehensive monitoring of anti-viral T cell responses and supports the development of novel VSV-GP variants.

Similar macroautophagy impairments are also present in the NOD mouse model of type 1 diabetes.

Summary: The accumulation of protein aggregates is toxic and its relation to diseases is still unclear. This study reveals that certain antigenic peptides can be presented to the MHC class I pathway via autophagy. The presentation of peptides derived from the viral EBNA1 protein was not affected by autophagy suppression, while the presentation of ovalbumin was suppressed. The study also suggests that the relative levels of protein expression do not affect autophagy-mediated antigen presentation.

Summary: This study investigated the activity and regulation of NUFIP1-mediated ribophagy in sepsis and explored the potential mechanism underlying its involvement in T-lymphocyte apoptosis. The results showed that NUFIP1-mediated ribophagy can significantly alleviate T lymphocyte apoptosis through the PERK-ATF4-CHOP pathway in sepsis. Hence, targeting NUFIP1-mediated ribophagy might be important in reversing the immunosuppression associated with septic complications.

Summary: This study presents a method for classifying HLA class I molecules using three-dimensional structures, which improves the breadth, accuracy, stability, and flexibility of classification.
