Summary: Parkinson's disease (PD) is a common neurodegenerative disorder characterized by the loss of dopaminergic neurons and aggregation of alpha-synuclein. Recent studies suggest that neuroinflammation may contribute to the loss of dopaminergic neurons in PD.

Summary: Neuroinflammation plays a key role in the progression of various neurodegenerative diseases, and recent studies have shown that LPS preconditioning provides neuroprotection by activating TLR4. Pre-exposure to low dose of LPS can confer a protective state against cellular apoptosis, indicating a role for TLR4 pre-activation in the signaling pathway of LPS-induced neuroprotection.

Summary: LPS is a virulence factor of Gram-negative bacteria and its excessive concentration in geese can induce liver damage and reduce production performance. In this study, transcriptome sequencing analysis identified 727 differentially expressed genes related to LPS-induced liver injury and enrichment analysis showed the involvement of Toll-like receptor, MAPK, NOD-like receptor, FoxO, and PPAR signaling pathways. The TLR7-mediated MAPK signaling pathway played a major role in LPS-induced liver injury in geese.

Summary: Coumarins, including xanthotoxin and umbelliferone, have been shown to improve cognitive function and reduce neuroinflammation in mice with lipopolysaccharide-induced cognitive dysfunction. Xanthotoxin significantly enhanced learning and memory function and reduced acetylcholinesterase levels, suggesting its potential as a treatment for neuroinflammatory diseases.

Summary: Research has shown that BoDV-1 infection can affect learning and memory functions in rats, leading to increased expression of inflammatory factors in the hippocampus. RNAseq analysis revealed 986 differentially expressed genes, with 845 upregulated genes, 141 downregulated genes, and 28 genes enriched in the toll-like receptor (TLR) pathway. These findings suggest that BoDV-1 infection stimulates the TLR4/MyD88/IRF5 pathway, resulting in neuroinflammation in rats.

Summary: While inflammation is crucial for human survival in response to infection and injury, prolonged inflammation can be fatal. Toll-like receptors (TLRs) are important in initiating inflammatory processes, and TLR2, in particular, has been extensively studied and known to recognize a wide range of pathogens through heterodimerization. However, many unanswered questions still remain about the mechanisms of TLR2 in both health and disease. This review provides an up-to-date overview of TLR2, including its homo- and heterodimers, and discusses its pro- and anti-inflammatory properties and recent findings in infectious and neurodegenerative diseases.

Summary: Exendin-4 was effective in inhibiting cocaine-induced CPP, facilitating the extinction of cocaine-associated reward, and attenuating reinstatement of cocaine-induced behavior. These effects may be attributed to the inhibition of TLR4, TNF-alpha, and IL-1 beta expression.

Summary: Depression is a common mental disease and is highly prevalent in populations. Dysregulated neuroinflammation and concomitant-activated microglia are involved in the pathogenesis of depression. Experimental evidence has indicated that fullerenol exerts anti-neuroinflammation and protective effects against neurological diseases. Here, we evaluated fullerenol's effects against lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced mouse depressive-like behaviors.

Summary: An efficient iron-catalyzed C-H amination was developed for the construction of imidazole-fused-ring systems under aerobic conditions. The reaction was conducted in the green solvent anisole, with water as the only byproduct. This transformation cleaved four C-(sp(3))-H bonds and formed three C-N bonds, leading to the synthesis of various imidazole-fused N-heterocycles in acceptable-to-excellent yields.
