Summary: The study found that organic consumers can be divided into three clusters, each with different preferences related to products in the Serbian market. Cluster 1 prioritizes factors other than healthy eating and calorie content, Cluster 2 cares most about the content of products consumed, and Cluster 3 values healthy eating. The decision to purchase organic products is mainly influenced by price and quality, which are related to the socio-economic characteristics of consumers.

Summary: Consumers' interest in organic food has increased, driven by perceptions of higher nutrition and health benefits. Concerns about the environment and animal welfare have also influenced purchasing behavior. A study of 330 organic food consumers in different cities in Turkey found that marital status, education, employment status, and age were related to purchasing behavior, while gender, income, and chronic disease did not impact actual buying. Benefits of organic foods, sustainable consumption attitudes, and positive moral attitudes affected perceived values, but perceived values did not significantly influence purchasing behavior.

Summary: Suboptimal food refers to visually imperfect food that is still safe and of good quality. This study investigates consumers' perception and acceptance of suboptimal food, as well as the factors that influence their acceptance. A survey was conducted among 414 consumers in Malaysia, and the results showed that only 11.4% chose suboptimal foods, with apples with brown spots having the lowest acceptance rate (9.9%). Consumers perceived suboptimal foods as unattractive and believed they should be consumed quickly. Malays were less likely to accept suboptimal foods, while middle-income households were more likely to accept them at home. Overall, consumers have a low acceptance of suboptimal food, viewing it as unappealing and transient. However, the findings may not be applicable to the wider population due to the use of convenience sampling.

Summary: A nationwide online survey in Japan in 2020 found that 23.3% of the 4933 adult participants used voluntary fortified foods (vFFs) and dietary supplements (DSs). The most commonly used vFFs were cereal products, milk products/milk substitutes, and one-shot drinks. Most users consumed vitamins C and B from vFFs and/or DSs, with females also consuming iron. However, only a small percentage of respondents clearly understood the nutrient content on package labels.

Summary: The COVID-19 pandemic has had a detrimental impact on global food and nutrition security, particularly for resource-poor urban residents. This study examines the effects of COVID-19 and related public-health measures on the diets, purchasing patterns, and overall food security of urban consumers in Nairobi, Kenya. The findings indicate that low-income households in informal settlements have been disproportionately affected, experiencing severe food insecurity and reduced dietary diversity. The consumption of nutritious foods has also declined among people living in these settlements. The study emphasizes the need to prioritize slums and vulnerable, poor consumers when implementing mitigation measures and designing policies.

Summary: This study investigates consumers' trends and consumption of organic foods in Portugal and Turkey. The results show that consumption patterns are similar in both countries, with a significant number of participants consuming organic foods, particularly vegetables and fruits, two to three times a week. The key motivations for consuming organic foods are the health benefits for humans and their lower environmental impact. The main reason for not consuming organic foods is the higher price. It was also found that both countries have good knowledge about the advantages of organic foods over conventional ones. Furthermore, the perception of the value attributed to organic foods is considerably higher in Portugal.

Summary: The study used a modified Theory of Planned Behavior model to explore barriers influencing consumers' intention to adopt sustainable electric vehicles. Findings highlighted the significant impact of attitude, subjective norm, and perceived behavioral control on users' sustainable consumption intentions, as well as the influence of environmental concern on these factors. Vehicle performance, purchasing price, charging facilities, maintenance, and battery costs were identified as factors affecting consumers' sustainable consumption intentions. The predictive power of the proposed model was found to be higher than the original TPB model, and Taiwanese respondents were primarily concerned about environmental effects like greenhouse gas emissions.
