This article aimed to assess whether or not immunotherapies and immunosuppression is associated with worse clinical outcomes in patients with cancer and COVID-19 disease. This cohort study of 12 046 patients with cancer and COVID-19 found that treatment with IO and other systemic anticancer therapies in the context of baseline immunosuppression was associated with an increased incidence of cytokine storm and worse outcomes in patients with cancer infected with SARS-CoV-2. Colonoscopies are the gold standard for detecting colorectal cancer. However in this cohort study of 32 769 individuals from 39 different health care organizations, the overall follow-up colonoscopy rate within 1 year of a positive stool-based test result was 56%. Race, ethnicity, insurance type, type of test (fecal immunochemical tests or multitarget stool DNA), health care organization, and the COVID-19 pandemic were significantly associated with these rates. This group utilized tumor radiographic characteristics as opposed to tumor genomics to predict local failure rates following SBRT in lung cancer. Using deep-learning (DL) scores the demonstrated that high DL scores failed at a significantly higher rate with 3-year cumulative incidences of local failure of 28.5% (95% CI, 19.8 to 37.8) versus 10.2% (95% CI, 5.9 to 16.2; hazard ratio, 3.3 [95% CI, 1.74 to 6.49]; P < .001). These results support the development and implementation of new DL-guided treatment guidance tools in the image-replete and highly standardized discipline of radiation oncology. One of the biggest risks that are posed following radiation therapy treatment is secondary malignancy. Typically that secondary malignancy is angiosarcoma. This case report focuses on interesting images of its typical purpuric plaque on the head and neck with systemic treatment options including the three P’s of paclitaxel, pembrolizumab and propranolol. Anaplastic Thyroid Cancer is rare, aggressive, and lethal. There is no standard radiation therapy technique utilized for it. Based on data suggesting synergy between pazopanib and paclitaxel in anaplastic thyroid cancer, NRG Oncology did a double-blind, placebo-controlled, randomised phase 2 clinical trial comparing concurrent paclitaxel and intensity-modulated radiotherapy (IMRT) with the addition of pazopanib or placebo with the aim of improving overall survival in this patient population. Though it was found to be safe and feasible, overall survival was not significantly improved with pazopanib versus placebo, with a median overall survival of 5·7 months (95% CI 4·0–12·8) in the pazopanib group versus 7·3 months (4·3–10·6) in the placebo group (hazard ratio 0·86, 95% CI 0·52–1·43; one-sided log-rank p=0·28). 1-year overall survival was 37·1% (95% CI 21·1–53·2) in the pazopanib group and 29·0% (13·2–44·8) in the placebo group. This is an interesting case report/series highlighting the importance of radiation myonecrosis following SBRT treatment of a paravertebral mass in a patients with oligometastatic renal cell carcinoma. The patient was treated, developed signs and symptoms of myonecrosis with resolution of symptoms and radiographic evidence of disease resolution as well. This is something that practitioners should be more aware of in the future. Toxicity in prostate cancer with definitive radiotherapy is a genuine concern. Many strategies have been explored over the years to try and reduce toxicities associated with treatment. This phase 3 randomized clinical trial of 156 patients with prostate cancer, MRI guidance significantly reduced acute moderate physician-scored genitourinary and gastrointestinal toxic effects and led to smaller decrements in patient-reported urinary and bowel function. I think these rules can't be emphasized enough. Time and time again I try to tell graduate students to focus on the relationship of mentoring and the skills that can be garnered during training as opposed to staying fixated on the project. Very important concept for graduate students to comprehend.

Alcool is causally linked to multiple cancers. This population based study demonstrated that an estimated 741 300 (95% UI 558 500–951 200), or 4·1% (3·1–5·3), of all new cases of cancer in 2020 were attributable to alcohol consumption. Males accounted for 568 700 (76·7%; 95% UI 422 500–731 100) of total alcohol-attributable cancer cases, and cancers of the oesophagus (189 700 cases [110 900–274 600]), liver (154 700 cases [43 700–281 500]), and breast (98 300 cases [68 200–130 500]) contributed the most cases. They cite the need for effective policy and interventions to increase awareness of cancer risks associated with alcohol use and decrease overall alcohol consumption to prevent the burden of alcohol-attributable cancers.
