Overall, the processing speed was very fast, and most of the time was spent on the reviewers' review. The editor was also very professional and provided very constructive feedback on the manuscript.

This paper also represents a lot of effort on my part, as it is my first paper since starting my graduate studies. Initially, I was ambitious and set a goal for myself to publish in a top journal with an impact factor of 10+. However, the results were quite disappointing as it was rejected multiple times. Fortunately, it was eventually accepted by Applied Surface Science.

I submitted the manuscript on August 10th. From August 18th to 25th, I contacted two reviewers to start the review process. On September 10th, I received the reviewers' comments, a total of 6 questions, mostly regarding details. On September 17th, I received the revised manuscript. On September 18th, the editor mentioned that the images were not clear and requested a change in format. On September 20th, I made the necessary modifications and resubmitted the manuscript.
