Submitted at the end of December 2020, received revision comments in early February 2021. There were a total of three reviewers, with two minor revisions and one major revision. The comments were targeted and addressed one by one. The revised version was submitted in mid-February, and received acceptance notification on March 10th. The reviewers were very thorough, marking the issues directly on the PDF file. The quality of the article significantly improved after incorporating their suggestions. Unfortunately, it did not make it to the top-tier journal this year. Hopefully, the journal will continue to improve and thrive.

This journal has been very slow recently. I submitted an article six months ago and still haven't received any feedback on the initial review. When I asked for an update, they only replied with one reviewer's feedback and asked me to be patient. I'm starting to lose my patience.

The initial review took two and a half months, and the second review has already been more than three months (97 days) and is still under review. It has been almost 7 months in total. A friend of mine also had a similar experience and has urged for the manuscript several times.
The cost-effectiveness is not very high, it is really too slow. It might be better to submit to IEEE journals, as the average speed of IEEE is faster than Elsevier.
