For this journal, almost everyone engaged in applied mathematics or computational mathematics has one or two articles (at least, this is the case for many non-double first-class universities in China that I have seen). At most, it can only be considered an entry-level journal for master's students, and it can't even enter the journal classification list of the three major fields of mathematics, applied mathematics, and probability statistics published by the Chinese Mathematical Society in 2021. I don't know how the Chinese Academy of Sciences evaluates this classification. Surprisingly, Invent. Math., one of the four major mathematics journals, is rated as a second-tier journal in the basic version of this classification. Looking at this classification, it seems that the journal Appl. Math. Comput. has already reached the level of the four major journals mentioned above.
