prf stands for Physical Review Fluids, and it seems that the journal usually has three reviewers. The review process is generally slow, with the first review taking 2-3 months, and the entire cycle possibly lasting almost half a year. At the end of March, I submitted to POF again, and it took 20 days from submission to receiving the first review comments. I made revisions for 20 days, and the second review took half a month, after which it was accepted. Among the reviewers, there were colleagues in my field, purely by luck. However, the review process was indeed much stricter, requiring a lot of additional data and rewriting of almost half of the article. The number of references also doubled, but fortunately, there was no need for a third review. Overall, the addition of reviewers can be considered a good thing.

POF is considered to be second only to JFM in the industry. After experiencing a large number of water-filling publications from 21 to 22, it was observed that the submissions began to tighten at the end of 22, with only 5 reviewers available.
