The assigned editor took too long, a whole two months. I submitted on October 15th, 2022, and received a rejection on December 21st, 2022. There was no review, no feedback whatsoever. It was a complete waste of over two months. I feel the editor was very irresponsible. Putting aside the quality of the article, at the very least, they should have provided a reason for the rejection. Also, two months is quite long for a desk rejection. Whenever a journal changes its name, it will have a transitional impact on its impact factor (IF) for up to two years, but there is no inheritance relationship between the old and new journal names as they exist independently. Since the calculation of IF is based on the number of papers published in the journal in the previous two years and cited in the third year, the journal will not have an IF in the first year after the name change, while the old journal name will still have a normal IF.

In the second year, the new and old journal names will each have their own IF. Since the journal with the new name has accumulated a year's worth of articles that can be cited in the previous year, it will obtain the first IF data, although it may be slightly lower than expected.

After the third year, the journal with the new name will have a normal IF calculation, while the old journal will no longer be included in JCR and therefore will not have an IF. At this point, the journal's renaming process is complete.
