I submitted my paper on September 20, 2020, and it went under review on September 30, 2020. Then came the long wait. After 11 months, on August 9, 2021, I sent a follow-up email to the journal. The next day, the journal responded saying they couldn't find reviewers and offered to transfer my article to Computers and Geosciences. I declined the offer directly because I suspected it was the associate editor's fault for the 11-month delay.

In the field of petroleum, the bending of downhole tubing caught the interest of the Executive Editor. The speed of handling external reviews and review responses was relatively fast. Before lunch, I saw the status as "required review completed," and immediately after finishing lunch, I received a notification for revisions. There were two reviews, one recommending acceptance and the other raising more than ten questions for modification. The editor's suggestion was to make moderate revisions. After receiving the feedback from the second reviewer, there was no response for a while. Considering that the executive editor must be busy, I waited for more than ten days before sending a reminder email. Two days later, I received a response. The second reviewer mentioned that the modifications were done well and recommended acceptance.
