I submitted this a long time ago, and recently received similar constructive comments on my article as this one, so I wanted to give some feedback.
This journal has very high language requirements. During the major revision, they pointed out language issues and sent it for proofreading. However, even after two minor revisions, they were still focused on improving the language (actually, I believe my language is not a problem, and I don't encounter this with other journals).
I think the reviewers and editors of this journal are very responsible, and it is a journal that I quite like. You should give it a try~

I was notified of acceptance last year on November 24th (I think), and the email mentioned that Wiley would take about one month for typesetting.

I registered as a student member in December for $50, and I also sent it to the JFS editor, but I didn't receive a reply. Then, in less than a month (on December 22nd), Wiley sent a message saying "Your article has started production, there is no page fee for registered members, and it costs $135/page for non-registered members." I replied with my membership number to the journal, but I didn't receive a reply from them.

Afterwards, two days later, the proof came, and on the same day, I received another email from Wiley saying "The article will be online on a certain date in a certain month, and as a member, no page fee will be charged." They didn't mention any fees in between.

In short, you can wait until your article is accepted before registering as a member. As long as you register as a member, they will have a record and will search for the author, so there's no need to worry. Student membership is usually valid for one year ($50/year), and it remains valid throughout that year.
