I also had a very long initial stage before. It took a long time from being with the editor to being sent for review. I submitted it on November 27th, and I don't remember when it was with the editor in between. I received the revision comments on December 31st, and after making the changes, I resubmitted it on January 21st. It was accepted in about a week. Just wait, this journal may be slow in the initial stage, but it will be much faster in the later stage. It took approximately two and a half months.
