The reason for rejection is really absurd. Last time they said that what I made was poisonous (I have a food permit, references, and the concentration is below the safety limit), but another article of mine has already been accepted. Before writing this article, I read many related articles in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry (JAFC), and I believe my article level is definitely not worse than theirs. However, they said my transcriptomics need to be validated. I have already validated it, how can I validate it again? Should I do a gene knockout? The manuscript is 23 pages long, is the workload not enough? Even the ones with less work can be published, even the ones with superficial work can be published. The submission experience is not very good, I won't submit to this journal in the future. This is just my personal submission experience for reference, please don't criticize if you don't like it.
