05.24 Submitted the journal, ADM is Raj Pretti.
06.05 Under review, ED is Morosuk and Tatiana.
07.05 Under review, stayed with the editor for a month before being sent for external review. The editor's processing speed needs improvement.
08.06 Major revision, two reviewers with a total of five comments. One reviewer had positive comments, while the other was less positive. The editor still gave an opportunity for revision, which shows that the editor is quite good. Additionally, the chief editor also had 10 suggestions for revision, but they were all easy to address.
08.13 Resubmitted the journal because the decision letter mentioned that submissions could no longer be made in the original system after 08.16. Submitting in the new system required a publication fee of $2500, so the revisions were made quickly.
08.23 Accepted. It seems that there were not many changes suggested, so the editor skipped external review and directly accepted it after internal review. I was lucky not to have to pay publication fees.
In conclusion, this journal has a fast external review process, and apart from the initial slow processing speed for external review, everything else is fast. The only drawback is that this journal will become open-access next year, so those who want to submit should consider it carefully.

Did your paper undergo external review? If it did, it indicates that the reviewers had both rejections and approvals, and their opinions were divided and not unified. The editor may be considering adding or changing reviewers.

If it has been under internal review (under review) all along, it is likely that after the evaluation, it is being prepared for submission.

The majority of submissions I receive are from Korean authors. The editors usually give me a two-week timeframe to provide my comments.
