Submitted in mid-February, received feedback on May 14th, major revisions required, returned within a week, May 28th, June 1st RRC, accepted on June 13th. The timeline is still manageable. Last year, I submitted an article which was actually quite decent, it included animal experiments and had substantial content, but it was ultimately rejected. It felt like luck played a part and some reviewers were talking nonsense. The reviewer I had last year was very frustrating, their comments were just terrible. This year, there were two reviewers, the first one was discriminatory and gave negative reviews for everything, the second reviewer was alright and provided mostly positive feedback. Finally, the editor found a third reviewer who gave a positive review, and that's how I got the major revisions. If the second reviewer had also given a negative review from the beginning, it would have been a disaster. I know my own article, it has its strengths and weaknesses, completely negating it is just talking nonsense.
