energy&fuel is a well-established journal in the field of energy and fuel. However, it has declined in popularity in the past two years. It is unfortunate that it has become a platform for newcomers to practice, which has affected its reputation. On the other hand, CST, as one of the few journals in the combustion field, was once prestigious but has now fallen behind. It is now classified as a fourth-tier journal, while articles in CNF and PCI surpass CST in terms of quality. Combustion researchers who are unable to publish in CNF and PCI may still hold CST in high regard, considering it as a sacred journal in their own field that should not be disrespected.

I had submitted an article before when it was still in the top tier of Zone 2, and it was highly recognized in the industry as a reputable journal. However, in the past two years, I have noticed that the editors have become increasingly irresponsible. After submitting a manuscript, all three reviewers were recommended by the authors themselves. They contacted the authors for recommendation opinions and quickly accepted the manuscript for publication. Of course, the articles must have a certain level of innovation for the editors to send them for review, but this kind of review process really compromises the quality of the articles. I hope that EF does not willingly decline and can regain its place among the top journals.
