Sometimes, some associate editors are intentional, just to delay and wait for you to withdraw your manuscript! I had a similar situation with a paper once. I suggest you withdraw it and submit to IJPR, Omega, or EJOR instead. They are much faster than this journal, and the editors there prioritize quick handling of your article!

It has been half a year and the first review hasn't come back yet.
It seemed like my senior brother got a quick response when he submitted to this journal, but later I realized it still depends on luck and the quality of the paper (generally it should be slow).
I heard that reviewers are given two months for review, so it's relatively slow.
