As a letter journal (referencing OL, a veteran in the field, but has never published a review article), CCL surprisingly relies on publishing a bunch of review articles to increase its impact. No one would consider such a journal promising; even publishing an article in JOC is much better than this. Furthermore, just by carefully examining the articles that cite it, a considerable portion is from domestic journals (obscure ones, which feels like intentional manipulation, referring to the citation scandal of this journal a few years ago). Do we need any more obvious and poor tricks? Our group doesn't have high hopes for this journal, it won't go far, really, so be cautious when submitting.

It is worth mentioning that CCL has a large number of articles and does not artificially inflate its impact factor by reducing the number of articles, unlike many other domestic journals. CCL publishes approximately 900 articles per year. Recently, I have received another article. I have already published three articles this year. The difficulty of submitting to this journal has increased, and it follows the requirements of CHEM SCI for review. The impact factor of the journal has also been continuously increasing, in line with the improvement in article quality. It is worth noting that CCL will be the first domestic comprehensive chemistry journal to exceed 10,000 total citations per year. Currently, the citations for 2019-2020 in 2021 are over 8,700 times. It is expected that next year's data will exceed 10,000.

Among domestic comprehensive chemistry journals, CCL has the highest impact factor along with the Chinese Science Chemistry and they are very close (currently calculating an instant impact factor of around 8). However, the total annual citation count of Chinese Science Chemistry is less than half of CCL's.

Therefore, CCL is still a promising journal and worth submitting to.
