After reviewing the recently published articles in the Heliyon journal, I would like to share the following conclusions:

1) This open-access journal is not fast, especially in terms of the time taken from the completion of the required review to acceptance and from acceptance to publication. However, the review process itself is not slow. Usually, other journals publish the results quickly once the required review is completed. In the case of this journal, even after acceptance, it takes an average of 4 months for the accepted articles to be published, with only one article being published within one month.

2) It usually takes one year from submission to publication, which is extremely slow compared to other journals.

It is up to personal preference to choose this journal. The advantages of this journal are its high ranking and impact factor, which is estimated to be in the second quartile. However, the drawback is its slowness.
