The main contribution of the article is to explain why some journal articles have more impact without much change in impact factor and self-citation rate, or even higher impact factor, while some journals face unfortunate circumstances.

I have gone through two rounds of revisions so far. My experience is that after under review, whether or not the reviewers agree with the review, I always receive a tracking email. The tracking email will indicate how many review invitations the editor has sent out, how many people have accepted the invitation, and how many people have completed the review.

This journal, although a new publication under Cell Press, is really slow. I suspect it is because it was recently included in SCI, resulting in a dramatic increase in submissions and transfers, but there is a shortage of editors. From the review comments, Heliyon is very strict and professional. My paper was reviewed by four reviewers, and each one provided insightful comments. It took me almost a month to make the necessary revisions. The impact factor is 3.776, which is just an average journal. We still don't know how it will be classified by the Chinese Academy of Sciences at the end of the year, so brothers and sisters who are in a hurry to publish their papers should be cautious about submitting to this journal.
