Statement: I have received the manuscript. To be honest, I am not currently considering submitting it, as I do not have a positive outlook on this journal.

Here we are 2022-02-23

Another paper is rejected, here comes the blow and retaliation. I thought this journal would be easy, but unexpectedly, it turned into a tragedy.

If I can get into NC and SA, of course I wouldn't consider this. Obviously, it's not on the same level.

伊卡 2022-02-22

I will not invest in the future, let's wait until the impact factor is above 9. I don't need to say more, those who have invested know the level. I prefer to consider SA and then NC, but currently, the development of this doesn't seem promising. The article above is not that good either.

Pass 2022-01-16

The score for last year was 9, and it is estimated to be leveled within the next 3 years.

Your boss is so funny, haha. Can you add me on WeChat, buddy?

Colleagues of paleontology, give a thumbs up.
Scientists have discovered the most complete dinosaur embryo ever recorded in scientific literature within a dinosaur egg fossil. This research was also published in the international scientific journal "iScience" on December 22, 2021.

Yeeloli 2021-12-25

Coordinates Middle East.

The boss values article quality very much. We submitted to ISME J and it was rejected. The reason was that although the article had many interesting findings, the methods and experiments were somewhat similar to a previous ISME article.

We discussed with the boss about submitting to PNAS or NC. The boss said she couldn't wait any longer and had to modify the format, so we submitted to iScience (even though it still took 2 weeks to modify the format in the end).

The quality of the article is unquestionable. After peer review, the reviewers only asked two questions in total, and their comments were highly recommended.

The publication fee is 3k, which can be negotiated for exemption. However, the boss needs to spend the project funds in a timely manner and is concerned about providing payment details to the editor.

In conclusion, I hope iScience continues to improve. Impact factor and other factors are not as important, everything is up to fate.

Yes, that's right. Diversified investment, you know. The Cell Press brand is highly sought after in the United States, even though its Impact Factor (IF) is slightly lower than that of the Nature series. But in the United States, IF is everything.

carpenter 2021-12-25

If your work could be accepted by Nature Communications and Science Advances, would you submit it to iScience?

Scientists have discovered the most complete dinosaur embryos ever recorded, and they are published here. This fascinating article has a significant international impact.

Hello, may I ask if after transferring to our journal, all we need to do is wait for the transfer to be completed? Is there no need to resubmit a cover letter?

Stephanie0130 2021-12-23

Hello! May I ask if once I agree to transfer, I don't need to worry about it anymore? Do I not need to resubmit a cover letter?

Chinese Academy of Sciences division: Basic version 2 zones, upgraded version 2 zones
It seems difficult to be rated as Zone 1 if you cannot access IF.

The impact factor is too low, estimated to not be able to go up.

lulu拉拉的sci 2021-11-21

I don't know if this journal can make it to the top or be listed in the first tier next year.

purer 2021-11-06

Approximately around 6.6.

purer 2021-11-06

Congratulations! This is indeed a high-quality journal.

THEMONSTER 2021-11-04

Around 4.5, it should be able to reach 6 next year. However, in the context of impact factor inflation today, this is not much.

XXOOXXOOXXOO 2021-11-04

Does anyone know the current impact factor? Will it be able to reach 6 next year?

July 28, 2021: After being rejected by Joule, the manuscript was submitted to iScience (no OA fee required upon acceptance).
August 16, 2021: Received major revision in the first round of review, with over 20 comments from four reviewers, which I find very constructive and professional.
September 27, 2021: Received the notice of pre-acceptance, requiring revision according to the formatting guidelines of Cell Press. It is indeed true that the requirements of a prestigious journal are different, and I deeply appreciate this.
October 8, 2021: Officially accepted.
October 12, 2021: Online.

After experiencing direct rejections from Joule and EES, I once considered submitting to other top-tier journals in the Chinese Academy of Sciences category. However, after careful analysis of iScience's relevant information (firstly, it is a sister journal of Joule, and secondly, it is benchmarked against NC), despite the mixed evaluations online, I believe that Cell Press will definitely arrange the development of the journal well, and I have always had faith in the quality of iScience. In the end, we transferred our article to iScience, which required a great deal of effort. I believe that this is giving back to the initial passion and hope of researchers!

We have high hopes for iScience and hope that it will excel, strictly control the quality of manuscripts, and strive for higher rankings among comprehensive journals. At the same time, I also encourage everyone to try iScience more. Let us strive together!

大NC是Nat. Che. translates to "Big NC is Nat. Che." in English.

May I ask if all authors need to confirm before the review process after submission? Or can the review be done first and then confirm later?

changshengshao 2021-09-10

iSience is open source, and the cost is 3000 US dollars.

If you have three articles in your group, may I ask how long it will officially take to receive them after the editor receives the email for format modification and sends it back? It has been 4 days since my "with editor" status hasn't changed.

``zjzjzjzjzj 2021-08-18

It takes about a month to submit for review. In my laboratory, there are a total of three papers, all within the range of 25-35 days.

``zjzjzjzjzj 2021-08-18

The first submission took about 45 days until receiving the first round of revisions (including with editor and under review). The feedback given was quite difficult, similar to the difficulty of reviewing for NC (communications, the only journal I submit to in my field, not sure what big NC and small NC refer to). After conducting additional experiments, the second round of revisions took approximately 15-20 days, and after making some formatting changes, the paper was accepted. Personally, I feel that the difficulty of submitting in the microbiology field is noticeably lower than NC and SA. However, some exceptional articles have reached the average level of NC, but the overall standard is somewhat lower. Based on the analysis of microbiology and molecular biology articles, the level is estimated to be around 7 out of 10.

遥感人xd 2021-08-18

I just submitted one, it has been under review for 10 days. May I ask how long it will take to receive the first review result?

β-NTA 2021-08-18

The second round of review takes 3 weeks, which is quite slow! Also, does anyone know if iScience charges for the cover page? I couldn't find any information on their website.

β-NTA 2021-07-26

Currently, I am not familiar with the development potential of this journal, but this paper is one that I quite like. I initially submitted it to Chemistry (chem), but the chem editor transferred it to iScience. The iScience editor said that if it is transferred, it will be directly sent for review, and if accepted, the publication fee will be waived. My boss likes iScience, so we submitted it there. After 25 days, we received the reviewer's comments. There were three reviewers, two minor revisions, and one acceptance. The editor gave us 4 weeks to make revisions.

Before this, I tried submitting the paper to JACS, ANGEW, and Nano Letters (NC). I didn't try Advanced Science or Chemical Science. Personally, I think the quality of the paper is not inferior to Nano Letters, and it is innovative with substantial work. However, my boss insisted on submitting to iScience because it has a good reputation overseas.

I hope this submission experience provides some reference for everyone.
