I consider myself an experienced writer, having published several SCI papers. Although I have been rejected multiple times in the past, this is the first time I feel like cursing. After going through two rounds of review over a span of six months, the reviewers had no issues, but the Editor-in-Chief, Yao, rejected it. The reason given was, "Although your manuscript falls within the aim and scope of this journal, it is being declined due to lack of sufficient novelty. We receive a much larger number of papers than we are able to accept." The lack of novelty is just an excuse, it is clear that the rejection was subjective due to the high volume of submissions.
