Initial Date Submitted: Jan 12, 2022; Date Final Disposition Set: Jun 25, 2022; Final Disposition: Accept.

When submitting the revised manuscript, we were informed that in a recent editorial board meeting, the editor-in-chief decided to limit the word count and the number of figures/tables. However, the associate editor understands the authors and recognizes that sometimes it is necessary to include sufficient text and figures/tables to fully describe the research. However, if there are limitations in the main text, he suggested considering adding a Supplementary Material (SM) as Appendix A. This way, the most important content can be retained in the main text, while other content can be transferred to the SM. This practice is adopted by many journals, including Nature and Science. The process from submission to acceptance took a total of 5 months. The editorial efficiency was quite high, with three reviewers providing feedback. The manuscript was returned for major revisions after two months of submission, and the comments were constructive. After another month, it was returned for minor revisions, and after the revisions were made, it was accepted within a month. Overall, the efficiency was quite high. In addition, Professor Ni Meng, the senior editor, is very helpful and actively assists authors in answering questions. Highly recommended.

How long did you make the decision at that time? What was the final result?

cabalcorrine 2022-05-10

Yes, approximately more than 20 days.

I want to ask those who have submitted before, does it usually take a long time for this journal to review?

cabalcorrine 2022-05-07

On the 13th day, sigh. The decision is still in process.

cabalcorrine 2022-04-22

How long is this cycle generally? It has been five months since I submitted, and it has been under review for over three months with no response.

wwwwgq 2022-04-07

May I ask how to know the submission status?

letxxzpub 2022-03-28

Have you experienced the status of "Required Reviews Completed"?

木叶小飞虫 2022-03-20

Not every author needs to confirm via email, usually it takes over a month to reach the "With Editor" stage.
Here is mine: Submit (2021.10.11); With Editor (2021.11.07); Under Review (2021.11.08); Major Revisions (2022.01.07); Submit (2022.02.17); With Editor (2022.02.17); Under Review (2022.02.17); Accept (2022.03.10)

Hello, may I ask if "decision in process" means it's over after "under review"?

Fortunever 2022-03-16

May I ask if it's game over after "under review" and directly into "decision in process"?

If the impact factor is greater than 7 in 2021, the number of published articles is too small. It is strongly recommended to increase the quantity of articles to be published.

Grubby 2021-12-28

From the website https://www.journals.elsevier.com/sustainable-energy-technologies-and-assessments, it was learned that the number of articles published in 2020 was 285. Last week, I tentatively submitted an article with the assigned number 4815. After removing some incomplete or unqualified manuscripts, it is expected that there will be around 4000 articles entering the "with editor" stage in 2021. The volume of submissions is huge, but the journal cannot accept too many articles in order to maintain its Impact Factor (IF) (by not excessively increasing the denominator of the IF formula). I think this is why the statuses "Submitted to Journal," "with editor," and "under review" are often very lengthy, as it extends the time for each stage and transfers the pressure of IF through time to digest it.

baybaybay 2021-12-14

It has been over five months since submission and approximately four months under review.

Brother, may I trouble you to ask about the status of your paper "under review" for 5 months? Has it been 5 months since submission without any feedback? What is the current status? It has been over 2 months for me since I submitted mine for review, and I am unsure how long it will be under review.

baybaybay 2021-12-13

It has been five months and the first trial has not yet ended. I have urged it at least five times. What should I do?

sansansan 2021-12-10

Submitted at the end of October, it is now December and still in the submitted status.

求求大家别卷了 2021-12-07

Brother, have you submitted it for review? How long does the review process take? Waiting is really agonizing, so slow.

Yueran Ma 2021-12-07

Posted on October 12th, returned on November 8th for clarification on compatibility with journal theme, resubmitted on November 8th, with editor on December 1st, date changed with editor on December 5th. How much longer do we have to wait for the review? This journal is really slow.

akasaka 2021-11-02

Posted on May 13th, found reviewers in August, major revisions submitted on September 10th, accepted on November 2nd.

洛又又 2021-10-23

Hello, may I ask how long did the submission last? It has been a month for me and there is still no progress.

11112222 2021-10-18

Thank you for your response, then I will wait a bit longer. It has been over a month already!

FAST 2021-10-18

No need for confirmation from other authors.

FAST 2021-10-18

I submitted my article in mid-May. About a month and a half later, it was assigned an editor and a manuscript number. In mid-August, I received a major revision for the first review. It was returned by the end of September. In early October, I received minor revisions for the second review and returned them within a week. The next day, it was accepted for publication.

11112222 2021-10-10

Thank you, sorry to bother you again, but how long did the status of your submission last? It was really agonizing waiting, and is it necessary for all authors to confirm the information? Please kindly answer, thank you so much!

11112222 2021-10-10

Thank you, may I bother you again and ask how long did the status you submitted last? This wait is so hard.

FAST 2021-10-10

After reaching the "with editor" status, it will take about a month and a half for the editing process before it can be sent for external review. After that, it will proceed quickly.

11112222 2021-10-10

It has been nearly a month since I submitted to the journal, but there has been no news. The status hasn't changed at all. Should I continue to wait? I seek an answer.
