After submitting last year, the manuscript was rejected by the editor without external review, with the reason being that there were only amplification data and it was suggested to supplement with data from metagenomics and other aspects. One year later, another research paper of ours was submitted to Microbiome. We thought that the process would be as long as last time, but unexpectedly, the three reviewers and the editor all dealt with it quite quickly. The specific timeline is as follows:
