Summary: Statistical and sensitivity analyses were conducted on the use of the Michaeeurolis-Menten kinetic model to estimate respiration rates of fresh produce during modified atmosphere packaging (MAP). Monte Carlo simulation showed that the carbon dioxide concentration term was the most sensitive. By modifying this term and reintroducing it into the Michaeeurolis-Menten model, its stability and predictive accuracy were improved. The analysis was based on the respiration rates of fresh-cut 'Romaine' lettuce treated with two disinfection methods and stored at a specific temperature for 7 days.

Summary: Fresh-cut Anggun packed in nylon showed the best performance in terms of color retention, texture, and respiration rate when stored at 5 degrees Celsius, with a shelf life of up to 14 days. The uncompetitive Michaelis-Menten model was proven to be a good fit for modeling the respiration rate of fresh-cut Anggun.

Summary: The study presents a luciferase-based assay for evaluating ADP kinetic parameters in mitochondria, showing that oxidative capacity and substrate combinations can dramatically influence ADP kinetics. The research also suggests that substrate-enhanced capacity to generate protonmotive force increases the OxPhos K(0.5)ADP, leading to flux control at ANT and subsequently affecting ADP-ANT binding dissociation constant.

Summary: The study found that as the initial oxygen level decreased, the respiration rate also decreased, while it increased with temperature. Temperature had a more significant impact on respiration rate than initial oxygen concentration, and the Michaelis-Menten (competitive) and Arrhenius models were effective in predicting the effects of gas concentration and temperature on the respiration rate of chitosan coated fresh pistachio nuts.

Summary: The study investigated the depuration kinetics of okadaic acid in cockles and found that cockles depurated the toxin faster than most other bivalve species. Two-compartment models were needed to describe the depuration process effectively, and esters were depurated at a faster rate than the free form of the toxin.

Summary: The application of enzymatic kinetics theory on the nutrition of horticultural species is limited. I-max and K-m were determined for habanero pepper and their values provided information about the efficient use of phosphorus in plants. The roots of habanero pepper can uptake phosphorus efficiently from the soil.

Summary: This study developed a model to predict the production of hydrogen and soluble metabolite products from water hyacinth through dark fermentation. The model accounted for the two forms of substrate (soluble and particulate) and the two stages (hydrolysis and acidogenesis) in the dark fermentation process. The hydrolysis of soluble and particulate forms was described using modified Michaelis-Menten and surface-limiting models, respectively, while the acidogenesis stage was modeled using a multi-substrate-single-biomass model. The model integrated the effects of temperature, pH, and substrate concentration, and showed good agreement with experimental and literature data.

Summary: This research focuses on the modelling and dynamics of enzyme processes based on chemical kinetics. A two-step reversible reaction of substrate-enzyme is investigated and transformed into a fractional-order model using the Atangana-Baleanu operator and Mittag-Leffler kernel. The numerical results obtained through the Atangana-Toufik method show the dynamics of the reaction against different reaction rates.

Summary: The competitive inhibition of MUB-P decay by P-PO43- and dissolved organic P was found, leading to an underestimation of potential acid phosphatase activity by up to 20%. To avoid bias, it is recommended to analyze progress curves at a wide range of initial MUB-P concentrations using non-linear methods when optimizing the enzyme assay for a given soil.

Summary: The photocurrent generated from spinach chloroplasts was investigated using a carbon paste electrode. Interaction between chloroplasts and the electrode was mediated by five types of redox mediators, with 2,5-dichloro-1,4-benzoquinone (2,5-DCBQ) found to be the most effective mediator. The photocurrent density was studied as a function of photon flux density, 2,5-DCBQ concentration, and chloroplast amount, and the source of the photocurrent was confirmed through experiments using inhibitors of electron transfer.

Summary: The decomposition rate of soil organic carbon (SOC) in alpine environments is influenced by various factors, with temperature being the main control. However, the temperature sensitivity of decomposition around freezing point may differ from higher temperature ranges. This study used soil samples from the Tibetan Plateau to investigate the effects of temperature, soil moisture, and oxygen concentration on SOC decomposition. The results showed that temperature had the strongest influence on decomposition rate, while the sensitivity to temperature remained constant except around 0 degrees C. Additionally, soil moisture and oxygen concentration had limited effects on decomposition rate, but small changes within narrow ranges could lead to significant changes in decomposition rates.

Summary: This study proposes a mathematical formula, based on the Michaelis-Menten equation, that accurately predicts HbA(1c) levels. By using personalized Michaelis constant (K-m) values, the formula can predict HbA(1c) levels with a high degree of accuracy, making it a valuable tool for personalized diabetes management.

Summary: The ATPase activities of the ABC transporter NaAtm1 were investigated in different lipid environments, showing that oxidized glutathione can stimulate the ATPase rate. The detailed kinetic parameters varied between different reconstitution conditions, indicating the importance of the lipid environment for NaAtm1 function. The elusive ternary complex plays a central role in accelerating the ATPase rate, which is crucial for the coupling mechanism between substrate transport and ATP hydrolysis.

Summary: Enzymes are biological catalysts that accelerate biochemical reactions in living organisms, and cells use regulatory mechanisms like enzymatic inhibition to control metabolite concentrations. A novel mathematical model describing enzymatic non-competitive inhibition by product was developed, providing insights into reaction velocity and Michaelis-Menten constant. The model's asymptotic solutions were found to align well with numerical solutions, and a global sensitivity analysis identified key mechanisms affecting enzyme activities.
