Summary: The study demonstrates that Tris(pentafluorophenyl)borane catalyzes the two-fold C(sp(3))-H silylation of various trialkylamine derivatives with dihydrosilanes, resulting in the formation of 4-silapiperidines in decent yields. The reaction cascade involves amine-to-enamine dehydrogenation at two alkyl residues and two electrophilic silylation reactions of those enamines, one inter- and one intramolecular.

Summary: An intermolecular enantioselective N-alkylation reaction of 1H-indoles has been developed using a cooperative rhodium and chiral phosphoric acid catalyzed N-H bond insertion reaction. The reaction produces N-alkyl indoles with high yields and excellent enantioselectivities, even with both alpha-aryl and alpha-alkyl diazoacetates. This method requires only a small amount of rhodium catalyst and chiral phosphoric acid, and computational studies provide insights into the mechanism and selectivity.

Summary: The steric and electronic properties of N-heterocyclic carbenes can be modified by using nido-C2B9 carborane anions as backbones, leading to the formation of N-heterocyclic carbene precursors and ligands, which can further form Au(I) NHC complexes. DFT calculations reveal the strong sigma-donating abilities of the carbene ligands.

Summary: The highly atroposelective construction of axially chiral N-arylindolocarbazoles via Rh(II)-catalyzed intermolecular carbene N-H insertion reactions provides a rapid access to enantio-enriched products with moderate to good yields and high enantioselectivities. The synthetic utility of this method is emphasized by late-stage functionalization of representative natural products and bioactive molecules, as well as polyaromatic ring construction and chiral phosphoric acid synthesis from N-arylindolocarbazoles, highlighting its practical value in materials chemistry and catalytic asymmetric synthesis.

Summary: Abnormal N-heterocyclic carbene (aNHC) based Ni(II) pi-allyl complexes (3 and 4) were synthesized from a Ni(0) precursor and characterized. The mechanism for the formation of Ni(II) eta(3)-allyl complexes from a Ni(0) precursor using a free abnormal N-heterocyclic carbene was elucidated. Exposure of complex 3 to O-2 gas under ambient pressure resulted in the activation of molecular oxygen to form a mu-hydroxo bridged Ni(II) dimer.

Summary: A Ru(II) complex was synthesized for C-H bond activation alkenylation of arenes using thioether directing groups, achieving high yields under milder conditions compared to previous methods utilizing precious noble metal catalysts. Broad substrate scope was demonstrated with good tolerance towards benzyl thioethers and vinyl, making it the first report of its kind utilizing a Ru-based catalyst for thioether alkenylation.

Summary: The addition of excess ZnMe2 to a mixture of [Ru(PPh3)(3)HCl] and IMes resulted in the formation of a bis-cyclometallated complex [Ru(IMes)(PPh3)(2)] 2 and a mono-cyclometallated Ru-Zn heterobimetallic complex [Ru(IMes)'(PPh3)(2)(ZnMe)] 3. Further reactions of these complexes with H-2, PhSiH3, pinacolborane, and CO were investigated. Compounds 1, 4, 5, and 6 were synthesized and structurally characterized.

Summary: In this study, a novel method was developed for the synthesis of vinyl gamma-amino amides with high gamma-selectivity and enantioselectivity using a high-spin chiral complex catalyst. The calculation showed a spin state change from quartet cobalt(II) complex to doublet Co(II)-carbene species for Z-selective and enantioselective nucleophilic addition.

Summary: Sigma-bond metathesis reactions between [(6-Dipp)CuOtBu] and three diboranes resulted in the synthesis of three new copper(I) boryl complexes [(6-Dipp)CuBcat], [(6-Dipp)CuBneop], and [(6-Dipp)CuBhex]. While [(6-Dipp)CuBcat] and [(6-Dipp)CuBneop] formed rapidly, heating was required to obtain [(6-Dipp)CuBhex]. Crystallographic analysis revealed that all three complexes were monomers with distorted-linear structures at the copper atom. [(6-Dipp)CuBneop] exhibited comparable stability to [(IPr*)Cu-Bneop], remaining stable in solution for days without decomposition. [(6-Dipp)CuBhex] represents a rare example of a crystallographically characterized complex containing a boryl anion supported by a hexylene glycolato ligand.
