Summary: In this study, poly(pyrrole-co-o-aminophenol)/chitosan composite samples were synthesized using a chemical method. The solubility of the composite decreased as the pyrrole ratio increased, and the best solvents for the composite samples were determined as DMSO and DMF. The SEM images showed that the composite samples had different structures compared to the copolymer, and the thermal stability of the composites varied depending on the pyrrole ratio. Cyclic voltammetry studies demonstrated that the composite samples had good redox behavior and were electrochemically stable.

Summary: Poly(o-anisidine) (POA) is a conductive polymer that can be synthesized through chemical or electrochemical routes. It has various applications in anticorrosive coatings, conductivity, and membranes. The composites of POA, with materials such as carbon nanotubes and graphene, are popular and find applications in catalysts, sensor development, and anticorrosive coatings. The derivatives of POA have shown better performance than plain POA in terms of anticorrosive coating and sensor development. However, the health hazards of POA require further study.

Summary: Two types of aniline-pyrrole copolymers were synthesized and used in a seawater battery and an aqueous zinc ion rechargeable battery. The copolymers showed certain crystallinity and conductivity. The copolymer with a 1:1 aniline to pyrrole ratio performed well as a primary battery cathode in the magnesium alloy-seawater battery, while the copolymer with a 2:1 ratio was suitable as a secondary battery cathode in the aqueous zinc ion battery. These copolymers demonstrated high energy storage and electrochemical stability.

Summary: Material modification with low surface energy can achieve lower surface free energy on micro-and nano-rough structures, which is crucial for developing superhydrophobic surfaces. In this study, attapulgite (APT) was modified with alkylamine, alkylammonium salt, and stearic acid, and the interaction between low surface materials and attapulgite was explained. The results showed that the hydrophobicity of APT was significantly modified by the modifiers, and the surface free energy of the composites first decreased and then increased with increasing molecular number of low surface energy monomers.
