Summary: In this study, a flower-like cobalt anchored on reduced graphene oxide (f-Co@rGO) nanocomposite was synthesized using a simple one-pot hydrothermal reduction method. The prepared f-Co@rGO/GCE electrochemical sensor achieved ultrasensitive quantitative determination of metronidazole at the nanomole per liter level, with a wide linear detection range of 0.025-500 nM and a low detection limit of 0.015 nM (S/N = 3), surpassing previous works. Moreover, the sensor was successfully used for accurate determination of metronidazole in real serum samples. The f-Co@rGO/GCE electrochemical sensor has great potential for clinical monitoring and drug quality control of metronidazole.

Summary: The N, S, P-doped C-ZnSi architectures derived from natural reed leaves show promising electrochemical performance for high performance supercapacitors, with exceptional capacitance retention and cycling stability. The as-prepared C-ZnSi materials exhibit a large number of hierarchical pores and high specific surface area, demonstrating outstanding potential for application in supercapacitors.

Summary: A super simple and green method for synthesizing iron oxide and graphene oxide-like carbon composite was proposed. Ferrous gluconate was used as the source of iron and carbon, and deionized water was used as the solvent without any additives. The possible transformation mechanism was proposed. The optimized composite showed excellent magnetic and lithium storage performance.

Summary: In this study, sulfonated graphene oxide encapsulated with alginate beads showed high defluoridation capacity, especially at pH 6. The adsorption kinetics, thermodynamic parameters, and isotherms of fluoride adsorption onto SGO@Alg beads were evaluated. The developed beads have potential for pilot scale water treatment studies and have been proven effective in reducing fluoride concentration in field samples.

Summary: The study aimed to obtain graphene-like phases in fine suspensions using pulsed laser ablation on microcrystalline graphite in water. Various analysis techniques were used to characterize the morphology, composition, and structure of the particles. The results showed that the colloids mainly contained rGO and defected graphene, with some GO, graphite micro-particles, and graphene-like phases.

Summary: A floret-like Mn doped SnO anchored on rGO modified GCE was developed for efficient detection of the prophylactic drug DMZ, with enhanced electrochemical performance, stability, and reproducibility. The nanocomposite-based electrode showed linear response towards DMZ over a wide concentration range and a low-level detection limit, and was effectively employed to detect DMZ in spiked samples of water, egg, and milk.

Summary: The Copper manganese oxide-graphene (CuMn2O4-RGO) composite was prepared using the sol-gel method and physical grinding, and then applied as electrode materials for supercapacitors. Various characterization techniques were used to analyze the structure and morphology of the composites. Through electrochemical tests, it was found that the CuMn2O4-RGO composite at a mass ratio of 1:1 exhibited excellent electrochemical properties, with higher capacitance and energy density compared to pure CuMn2O4 and RGO. The composite shows promising potential as an electrode material for supercapacitors.

Summary: A coprecipitation method was used to synthesize a CoFe2O4 anchored sulfonated graphene nanojunction for visible light photocatalytic reduction of nitrophenols. The effect of the extent of anchoring of CoFe2O4 on the catalytic performance was investigated. Photoreduction of nitrophenols at different pH ranges and with different ions, anions, and scavengers was studied. The nanocatalyst reduced the amount of NaBH4 and reduction time significantly, exhibited good magnetic properties, easy separation, stability, and reusability, making it a potential candidate for wastewater treatment.

Summary: Transition metal sulfide has been anticipated as a promising anode material for high performance lithium-ion batteries. In this study, a spindle-like Fe7S8/C@rGO composite was synthesized and showed superior electrochemical properties and extraordinary electrical conductivity. The addition of rGO effectively increased the extra reversible capacity of Fe7S8/C@rGO.
