Summary: The paper investigates the recovery of valuable sulfide minerals by flotation from mining tailings in central China, focusing on the importance of the oxidation status of sulfide minerals on their flotation properties. The use of EPMA-WDS for characterizing solid surfaces and analyzing the low flotation recovery of chalcopyrite and pyrite in the tailing provides a useful methodology for further research in the field of sulfide mineral surface analysis.

Summary: The study discussed the Raman enhancement mechanism of optical fibers decorated with silver nanoparticles as SERS substrates, focusing on the LSPR of AgNPs and cavity enhancement of a silver capillary. Optimal parameters for coating AgNPs and the formation mechanism based on temperature and velocity field distributions were explored. Experimental results demonstrated a detection limit down to 10(-11) mol/L, with a total enhancement factor of approximately 10(9) and an additional cavity-coupled enhancement effect.

Summary: A novel SERS-based sandwich immunoassay was developed for quantitative detection of serum biomarkers A beta 1-42 and P-Tau-181, showing great potential for early diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. The method exhibited favorable detection performance in protein standards and differentiated AD from non-AD dementia patients in clinical serum samples.

Summary: The cell surface membrane proteome, a class of proteins that mediate communication between cells and their environment, is challenging to purify and study. This study developed a new photolabeling probe for efficient tagging and enrichment of cell surface membrane proteins, enabling a deeper understanding of their structure and function.

Summary: This study proposed a surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) approach using sodium alginate (SA) as green reductant in combination with edge enrichment and chemometrics to build label-free Cadmium (Cd) quantitative models. The optimal detection system was established by optimizing the concentration of specific molecules and the droplet volume of measured liquid. The results indicated that the model combined with first-order derivative preprocessing and competitive adaptive reweighted sampling algorithms achieved the best performance with a low limit of detection in food. The SERS approach combined with edge enrichment and chemometrics holds promise for rapid and label-free determination of Cd in food.

Summary: The chemical composition of the surface of staters of Bosporan king Teiranes of AD 276/7-278/9 has been studied. It was found that the staters were silvered with a copper-based alloy containing a small amount of silver, tin, and lead. X-ray spectral microanalysis also revealed the presence of chlorine, calcium, sodium, and magnesium in the silver surface layer of these coins, suggesting the use of special pastes for silvering the late Bosporan staters from AD 275.

Summary: A selective and sensitive colorimetric method using phenylbenzotriazole functionalized silver nanoparticles was developed for the detection of chromium (III) in tap water. The method demonstrated high sensitivity to Cr (III) and excellent selectivity in the presence of interfering metal ions. It offers a simple, selective, and easy alternative for the detection of Cr (III).

Summary: Minerals play a critical role in interfacial geochemistry. Vibrational spectroscopy methods can be used to study physical and chemical features of different mineral samples from macro to nanoscale. By comparing and integrating data from these techniques, new insights into sample differences and heterogeneities can be gained.

Summary: The purpose of this study is to develop a dual fluorescence-colorimetric sensor for determination of tobramycin using fluorescein-modified silver nanoparticles. Tobramycin can displace fluorescein from the surface of nanoparticles resulting in nanoparticles aggregation and liberation of free fluorescein restoring its fluorescence. The proposed methods were applied for determination of tobramycin in Tobrin (R) ophthalmic solution with high accuracy and precision.

Summary: The study focused on the impact of the adhesion layer used in the fabrication of metal nanostructures on the spectral linewidths of plasmonic cavities. It was found that reducing the thickness of the adhesion layer could decrease the linewidths of both bright and dark plasmonic modes, leading to an increase in the quality factor of the PCs and facilitating strong-coupling with semiconductor quantum dots.

Summary: A Sep/CTs/AgNPs membrane substrate was developed for the fast separation, enrichment, and surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) determination of sulfamethoxazole. The membrane substrate exhibited rapid separation and enrichment ability, effectively amplifying the Raman signals of the target molecule. The method was successfully applied to the quantification of sulfamethoxazole in animal-derived food samples.

Summary: A new spectrophotometric ultrasonicated method was developed for the determination of diaverdine HCl. The method involved the preparation of silver nanoparticles stabilized with sodium dodecyl sulphate and then subjecting the solution to ultrasonication, which increased the SPR absorption. The concentration of diaverdine HCl was monitored by measuring the decreasing SPR absorption spectra.
