Summary: Observations of the Galactic Center show two different interpretations: one suggests that the S-star cluster is arranged in a disk-like structure, while the other suggests they cannot form disks. There is also a controversy over the spin of Sgr A*, with some suggesting a low spin and others suggesting a high spin, indicating incomplete models for its observed image.

Summary: The Event Horizon Telescope (EHT) has observed the image and shadow of Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*), which is believed to be a supermassive black hole. The observed image is consistent with the expected appearance of a Kerr black hole, but there are other non-Kerr objects that could also produce similar shadows. In this study, two black hole mimickers, including a rotating generalization of a static black-bounce space-time and a static axially-symmetric solution of the vacuum Einstein's equations, were considered and their shadows were compared with the observed shadow of Sgr A* to constrain their parameters.

Summary: This study presents new constraints on potential deviations from the Kerr metric based on observations of Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*) using the 2017 Event Horizon Telescope. The authors calibrate the relationship between the black hole shadow and the observed size of ring-like images using both Kerr and non-Kerr simulations. They conclude that the observed image size is within similar to 10% of the Kerr predictions and use these bounds to constrain alternative metrics and charges of spacetimes. The study also explores the possibility of Sgr A* being a compact object with a thermal or reflective surface and compares the results to other gravitational tests.

Summary: This paper quantifies the temporal variability and image morphology of the horizon-scale emission from Sgr A* observed by the EHT in 2017. It finds that the data exhibit significant variability exceeding uncertainties and scattering effects. Geometric ring models provide better fits to the data, and the diameter and thickness of the ring are determined through modeling and image-domain analysis techniques.

Summary: Using 23 years of observational data, the study investigates the orbit of the star S0-2 around the massive black hole Sgr A* at the Galactic center, in order to constrain the existence of an intermediate-mass black hole. The results exclude the presence of a companion black hole with a mass between 10^3 and 10^5 times the mass of the Sun at a distance of 1020 au from the S0-2 orbit. Stronger constraints are obtained for a closer companion. These findings are important for understanding the evolution of black holes in the Milky Way.

Summary: The Event Horizon Telescope observed the compact radio source, Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*), in the Galactic Center and found its variability on short timescales of up to 1 minute at millimeter wavelengths. The spectral energy distribution of Sgr A* is flat at 220 GHz, indicating low optical depth for the event horizon scale source.

Summary: The Event Horizon Telescope has produced high-resolution images of plasma flow around supermassive black holes in Sgr A* and M87* using advanced imaging technology. The next-generation Event Horizon Telescope will significantly improve observation data with multiple frequency bands. Simultaneous reconstruction of interferometric images at multiple frequencies along with their spectral index maps produces higher-quality and more scientifically useful results than independent image reconstructions at each frequency.

Summary: In this study, we analyze the formation and evolution of the event horizon of a charged black hole binary merger. The presence of charge is found to affect the properties of the merger and can be used to investigate various theories of modified gravity and dark matter candidates. Additionally, the study offers insights into astrophysical phenomena involving black holes, such as degeneracies in gravitational wave parameter determination.

Summary: This study presents the first observations of Sagittarius A* using the Event Horizon Telescope. The data supports the presence of a supermassive black hole at the center of the Milky Way, with an image that is consistent with the expected appearance of a Kerr black hole. The results also connect dynamical measurements of stellar orbits to event-horizon-scale images.

Summary: The EHT has captured images of M87* and Sagittarius A*, and will soon capture time sequences of images. A technique to measure the rotation rate from movies is described and validated on simulated images of Sgr A*. The predicted rotation rate of the EHT movies is 15% of the Keplerian orbital frequency in the emitting region, and it depends strongly on inclination.

Summary: We present the first observational constraint on the Brackett-gamma (Br gamma) recombination line emission associated with the supermassive black hole at the center of our Galaxy, known as Sgr A*. We derived a stringent upper limit on the Br gamma flux based on 13 years of data combined with the OSIRIS integral field spectrograph at the W. M. Keck Observatory, strongly constraining possible interpretations of emission from this highly underluminous supermassive black hole.

Summary: Theoretical studies suggest that measurements of stellar or pulsar orbits near the Galactic Center can constrain the properties of the black hole and the theory of gravity. By using a Markov chain Monte Carlo and developing an analytic model, it is found that existing astrometric measurements cannot constrain the spin of the Galactic Center black hole, but future experiments may enable the measurement of the black hole spin.

Summary: We propose a machine-learning-based classifier to eliminate the polarization ambiguity in galaxy spin measurement. The model is trained with Sloan Digital Sky Survey images and enhanced with data augmentation techniques. Using Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument images, a 30% increase in both types of spiral galaxies is observed, and the human bias discrepancy is reduced to zero with our CE-ResNet classification results. We also discuss potential systematic issues for future cosmological applications.

Summary: Magnetars are believed to be highly magnetized neutron stars with strong internal magnetic fields that cause deformations and precession. This study investigates the precession dynamics of triaxially deformed magnetars, considering electromagnetic torques. The results include timing residuals, polarized X-ray signals, and modulations on the position angle of radio emissions. These findings can be used to search for magnetar precession and provide valuable insights into their geometry, magnetic field strength, emission properties, and equation of state.

Summary: This research proposes a methodology to test phenomenologically motivated emission processes in the sources imaged by the Event Horizon Telescope. It introduces novel models into GRMHD simulations to bridge the uncertain mechanisms of high-energy particles in JAB system plasmas. The methodology partitions the simulation and applies different parametric models to regions governed by different plasma physics.

Summary: Interpretation of resolved polarized images of black holes by the EHT relies on predicting the polarized emission observable by Earth-based instruments for a specific black hole accretion model. GRRT codes used within the EHT Collaboration are evaluated for accuracy and consistency in producing test images, demonstrating high consistency in various methods and implementations of radiative transfer calculations. The comparison shows similar images with a pixel-wise normalized mean squared error (NMSE) of 0.012 for an analytic accretion model, and NMSEs of 0.02, 0.04, 0.04, and 0.12 in Stokes I, Q, U, and V for a cell-based magnetohydrodynamic simulation snapshot. The agreement between the image metrics and published EHT results is better than measurement uncertainties.

Summary: This study presents the largest survey of average profiles of radio pulsars to date, using the same telescope and data reduction software. The results show a significant correlation between the radio luminosity and the spin-down energy of pulsars, contradicting previous assumptions about population synthesis studies. Furthermore, the findings suggest that magnetic dipole braking may not be the dominant factor in the evolution of pulsar rotation.

Summary: This paper argues for incorporating an additional 86 GHz observing band to enhance the utility and efficiency of the ngEHT. The reliably good weather conditions at the ngEHT sites enable year-round observations at 86 GHz. By including 86 GHz observations in multi-frequency imaging, the (u,v) coverage at 230 and 345 GHz can be sufficiently augmented to detect the M87 jet structure without requiring EHT stations to join the array. The ngEHT's general calibration and sensitivity can also be improved through simultaneous observations at 86 GHz and higher-frequency bands.

Summary: By using the regularized maximum likelihood (RML) method, we reconstructed high-resolution images of the M87 22 GHz data observed with the East Asian VLBI Network (EAVN). Compared to the conventional imaging method CLEAN, the RML images showed a brighter core and a jet extending about 30 mas to the northwest with higher resolution. The study provides an important advancement for future observations of the EAVN to investigate the detailed structure and time variability of the jet.

Summary: In this paper, a new universal relation is revealed, connecting the eccentricity to the radius and moment of inertia of rotating neutron stars (NSs). This relation holds for both conventional NSs and bare quark stars (QSs) and can reduce the number of parameters used to describe the shape and multipoles of rotating NSs. It may also be used to infer the eccentricity or moment of inertia of NSs in future X-ray observations.

Summary: Images of supermassive black hole accretion flows contain features of both curved spacetime and plasma structure. The Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration has imaged near-horizon millimeter emission from both Messier 87* (M87*) and Sagittarius A* (Sgr A*) and has found a preference for magnetically arrested disk (MAD) accretion in each case. MAD accretion enables spacetime measurements through future observations of the photon ring.
