Summary: This study aimed to assess pain severity and interference with life in women after different types of breast cancer surgery, and to analyze the demographic, treatment-related, and psychosocial variables associated with these pain outcomes. The results showed differences in pain and quality of life among different surgical procedures and racial/ethnic groups.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the outcomes of robotic mastectomy with open classical technique in breast cancer patients. The use of robotic nipple sparing mastectomy is increasing, and it is important to understand the surgical, oncologic, and quality of life outcomes to select appropriate patients and better understand the indications, limits, advantages, and risks.

Summary: This study aimed to compare the efficacy and safety of erector spinae plane block (ESPB) and thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB) in preventing acute postsurgical pain (PSP) following breast cancer surgery. The results showed that ESPB was less effective in preventing morphine consumption in the PACU than TPVB. The findings suggest that randomized trials comparing ESPB and TPVB are needed.

Summary: Racial disparities in breast cancer treatment contribute to Black women having the worst breast cancer survival rates in the U.S. Our study found that from 2008-2010, Black women had a lower receipt of optimal locoregional treatment (OLT) compared to White women. However, from 2010-2011, there was an increase in OLT for Black women, particularly in the receipt of radiation therapy following breast-conserving surgery.

Summary: Young women undergoing breast conserving therapy have a higher risk of local recurrence compared to mastectomy alone. Despite aggressive salvage treatments, those with local recurrence after breast conserving therapy have poor prognosis. Novel systemic treatments are needed to improve outcomes for young women with breast cancer undergoing breast conserving therapy.

Summary: In recent years, rates of bilateral mastectomy among average-risk women with unilateral breast cancer have been increasing, partly due to the wider use of breast magnetic resonance imaging and genetic testing. However, the decision for contralateral prophylactic mastectomy is not directly linked to the actual risk of contralateral breast cancer, but rather to the likelihood of distant recurrence.

Summary: Contralateral prophylactic mastectomy (CPM) is not recommended for average-risk women with breast cancer due to lack of evidence for survival benefit, yet recent studies demonstrate increasing CPM rates. Patients receiving CPMs tend to have higher reconstruction rates and be younger in age.

Summary: This study examined whether implicit racial bias is associated with disparities in breast reconstruction and found that regional variations in utilization exist but are not associated with implicit bias. The results suggest that collaboration, data collection systems, and collaboration with high-volume breast centers can improve utilization rates and quality of care for breast cancer patients.

Summary: This study compares the efficacy of preoperative and postoperative chemotherapy in women with primary operable breast cancer, and explores the correlation between tumor response to preoperative chemotherapy and prognosis. The results showed no significant difference in DFS, DDFS, or survival between the preoperative and postoperative chemotherapy groups. Preoperative chemotherapy allows for more lumpectomies and tumor response is associated with prognosis.

Summary: This study investigated the effects of advanced physiotherapeutic exercise programs on imaging findings and inflammatory biomarkers in soccer players with chronic non-specific low back pain (CNLBP). The results showed that virtual reality exercise and isokinetic exercise had equal effects on reducing pain intensity. Isokinetic exercise was beneficial in increasing muscle cross-sectional area and thickness, while virtual exercises helped attenuate the inflammation process in soccer players with CNLBP.

Summary: The objective of this study was to determine the effect of a standardized physiotherapy program on pulmonary function and walking capacity in obese and non-obese patients undergoing coronary artery bypass grafting. It was found that obese individuals had worse lung and physical functioning at baseline, and both groups deteriorated on postoperative day 4, with the obese group deteriorating more. Both groups improved on day 7, with the non-obese group improving at a faster rate. However, the obese group showed faster improvement in terms of functional capacity. Therefore, a new strategy for managing obese individuals after CABG is required.

Summary: This study aimed to measure the level of community understanding of malaria transmission, protection, and treatment in Southwestern Saudi Arabia. The majority of participants had heard about malaria and knew that fever was the main symptom. However, a significant number of participants were unaware that stagnant water is a key breeding site for mosquitoes. Knowledge levels were satisfactory overall, but differences were observed based on the participants' place of residence.

Summary: Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) is a common inner ear disorder that causes brief episodes of vertigo. Epley-canalith repositioning procedure (ECRP) and vestibular rehabilitation therapy (VRT) are commonly used interventions for treating BPPV. Summary: This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of IASTM and static stretching on ankle flexibility, foot posture, foot function, and balance in patients with a flexible pronated foot. The results showed that the IASTM group had significant improvements in ankle dorsiflexion, plantar flexion, inversion, eversion, foot function, and dynamic balance. Therefore, IASTM combined with foot exercises can be a choice of treatment for patients with a flexible pronated foot.
